That’s a lot of infield singles

I'm not a baseball fan, but something tells me that hit distribution is pretty good.

No opposite field power

Right! What long, historic, and successful career, but not a single op po homer. That is crazy

It really is amazing. You would think with a career that long and with that many hits he would accidentally hit at least a handful of opposite field homers. I see exactly 1 HR to left center and that is it. Only 117 HRs total but still.

I was noticing that. A spray hitter with all of 2 dead opposite field homers in his career.

He has just over 1,000 hits in eight (maybe nine) seasons in Japan as well.

MLB infields should be better than this

Ichiro > Pete Rose as a hitter and especially as a person

I'm pretty sure that the dots are where the ball landed, so most of the dots in the infield would likely be ground balls that got through. I know he had a ton of infield singles as well. I especially remember early in his career with that running start. But, its not as dramatic as the graphic makes it seem.
