Goodell was asked about the general state of officiating and began his answer by praising the league’s officials.

“I’m so amazed at how good our officials are,” Goodell said. “We spend time all week looking at various angles and still debating it a week later. These guys have to make a split-second decision, and the men and women on our field are incredible. I think they’ve proven over and over again they’re really wonderful at what they do.

“On the other hand,” Goodell continued, “it’s a difficult sport to officiate. It’s fast. It’s quick. And we have to be able to use technology, in my view, to try to prevent the obvious errors. Now, they’re not all obvious. I think, depending on which team you’re for, they’re obvious in your eyes potentially. But at the end of the day, we see that if there’s an obvious error, we need to be able to fix it. And I think technology can help that.”

This level of officiating is exactly what the owners want and why Goodell can troll us to our faces like this.

As usual, just smuggly, arrogantly denying that there is a huge problem with officiating.

Not even bullshite lip service. Just a nah, we good with that. His actual answer should have been something like......... We are looking to constantly improve our officiating any way we can, so we are looking at:
1. Full time officials.
2. Willing to hold the crews accountable by meeting with the press after games.
3. We are looking at hiring better athletes to be in referee positions that have extensive NFL game the knowledge, and have actually experienced playing in the NFL.

Arrogantly offering no new solutions. Stick with the status quo. Nothing to see here.

Then we have to watch the next display of arrogance with the anti-ice, pro-tranny, pro-illegal halftime show.........despite the cultural shift rejecting all of that shite.

The NFL is garbage.
