Something similar to the Lewis & Clark expedition but in Louisiana. Possible memoires by La Salle or something. Ive googled some but rather not spend $35 on a book that sucks. Was hoping to get some suggestions

Ten Flags in the Wind by Pie Dufour is a history of LA written by a New Orleanian. I read it about 45 years ago, so I can't really tell you how much emphasis was placed on the exploration aspect.

New Orleans Yesterday and Today
Is a great history of New Orleans. Probably the most thorough.
