I agree I enjoyed his books but after the first 4 or 5 they felt very similar. But I enjoyed his books

Yeah, man. I was so bummed out about that, too.

I’ve been very critical of Grisham including on this board. Some of his books have been total crap.
But I’m nearly half way into The Judge’s List and it’s not too bad. The writing is simplistic but the plot is decent and I’m enjoying it.

About the Partner…
Still pisses me off that the girl takes the money and runs in the end.
We are different.. I loved the ending and loved the fact that she played him the ENTIRE time.

I kept waiting for book two, where they reunite, with all the cash. No dice.

I've read about 30
I do get tired of the death row angles and if I never read about Parchman prison again, I'll be fine
the rest are amazing. I bought A Painted House for my grandma before she lost her ability to reason, and she loved it. She was from Newport, Arkansas, so it read to her like a family history. Like the greatest generation she was a member of, she sent me a handwritten card (of course) telling me how much she loved it. She's been gone several years now.
Grisham is humble as hell. He says Faulkner was an artist, and that he's only an entertainer. I think he's being modest.
there's no reason to rate any of his books IMO, or maybe I'm just not smart enough. He gets better with age, and I hope his son can carry on the legacy.

The best have all already been mentioned. Just stick with those.
The Partner
The Firm
The Client
A Time to kill
The Pelican Brief
In no particular order.
in other words, you don't read Grisham, you just watched some movies

what's it supposed to be?

If you only read one, it should be The Firm.
The rest are all weaker and inferior, although some might find things to like in some.
