re: $/hd to AI cattle

They gotta get the hierarchy sorted out. They’re gonna fight. As long as it’s one-on-one and fairly evenly matched it’s usually not too bad. They will gang up on one if more are there. Then it can be a problem. Sometimes horrific injuries resulting in ground meat.
For five cows, do as scanni suggested and buy bred cows. That’ll get you through the first go-round and it’ll give you time to decide about a bull.

buy a bull and put him with your cows until they’re pregnant then sell him.
This is probably your best option. It’s all about bred cows. You should be able to get most if not all the purchase price back when you sell. You don’t want to be missing any calves and he will (or should) be on the alert for a cow that needs more attention.
Just checking.
What is the condition of the roof ?
Does it need to be replaced ?
Can you just install the drip edge and make necessary repairs ?
I wouldn’t buy a new roof just because someone neglected to install a drip edge.

Good chickens. Take the heat of S La pretty well. Small to medium eggs.
Please do not refer to it as a fishing pole in the presence of other fishermen. Use the term fishing rod. The only fishing pole is a cane pole.
I also prefer to sand it, but care should be taken. A pad sander may be a safer option.

I don't catalog horsies
Except for that one horse on Gunsmoke, they don’t really stand out. On Bonanza, though, Little Joe had nine different horse , all named Cochise that he used throughout the series. The original Cochise which he rode the longest was brutally murdered in his stall.
I admit I did have a catalog on these horses, seeing which one he rode in each episode. There are even some episodes where he switched horses a couple times from one scene to another.
When Matt Dillon sets out on a horse that is not his buckskin, you can bet that hose ain’t gonna make it through the episode alive.
Doesn’t really look like termites, but not saying there aren’t any. Looks more like old dry rot

not watching the credits
I love the credits. The theme songs, especially the mournful one, are great. I also like to see who the guest stars were, so the next time I see them I can identify them. That’s so-n-so.
Side note, the red horse with three white stockings with a white dot over his left eye is in many, many episodes. Usually ridden by the guest star, although I believe Chester was on him a couple of times.
What a great thread here. My favorite show. Thought I knew quite a bit about Gunsmoke before but my goodness, what a treasure trove of new (to me) information. Thanks.
Before there was widespread streaming, I happened upon the complete series on DVD. Many, many discs. Loved that, but there were a few discs that just would not play properly (in a PS3, don’t know if that mattered). Don’t know where I got them but I think it was from a less than great distributor, But with Pluto TV I don’t really watch them anymore, anyway.
re: The entire series run of Gunsmoke is on Pluto TV. 20 seasons, 635 episodes

While there were many great episodes in color, the black and white ones just felt more like a real western.
Talk about rewatchable. I found the Gunsmoke channel several years ago and let it run constantly for months. If somebody wanted to watch something else they could, but then the TV went right back to Gunsmoke. Finally, everyone else here had had enough and that ended.

I agree Merton episodes were great. However, some of those earlier episodes were written by a woman, Kathleen Hite ? These episodes had a woman as the main character and were not nearly as good.
I’ve had it for over thirty years. Sounds more like a constant chorus of cicadas. Sometimes louder than others. I’ve asked several doctors over the years and every one has said nothing will fix it.
To everything.
You can either put a few daubs on the back of the wood, put a long bead on the back, or run a thin bead along the outside edges. This can easily be removed with a razor knife if need be.
Pro tip : if you get a bunch of caulk on your hands do not try to rinse it off with water. Use a dry rag to get off all you can, then use can use water.

Man, just use a few dabs of clear silicone caulk like I said earlier. Easy to hang, easy to remove, with no damage to the paint or drywall. Sheesh.
Rather than construction adhesive which can damage the drywall if removed, use clear silicone caulk. Very strong and easier to remove. Use painters tape to hold the letters in place until the caulk cures.

Do you really think Taylor Sheridan has thought that far ahead ? I’m not sure he has. Last several episodes have been so disappointing and veer completely away from the initial episodes.
Good stuff, there.
