Know I'm a Johnny Come Lately, but just now reading John Ed Bradley's book.

Of course, the book It Never Rains in Tiger Stadium is truly outstanding and for me, timely right now. I have just finished the part where he discusses being recruited.
I am sure there have been other posts about this book over the years, but this is such an outstanding book for a Tiger fan that surely another mention at this time with the new era and the Lane Kiffin hiring can't hurt.

Great read, especially for an LSU fan who was around for that era. It brought back memories because Bradley and I were at LSU at around the same time.

I remember reading it about 8 years ago. It was a good book, but man, the guy needed a therapist or something. He just couldn't move on after his playing days ended.

Interesting section about Cholly Mac on his death bed rehashing the USC game.

He did an article that hit the high points for Sport Illustrated that ended up bound in SI's Fifty Years of Great Writing. I think that the response to that article prompted him to complete the memoir (or perhaps he was working on it and banged something out of it to publish) - either way, they're certainly connected.
He was an interesting guy and had a very poignant experience at LSU.
