Anyone finished reading this set? How does it compare to The Pacific War by John Costello? I finished Pacific Crucible earlier this year and want to know how The Conquering Tide and Twilight of the Gods (came out Sept. '20) deliver before I order them for Christmas. Thanks in advance!

I’ve read scores of books about WW2 in the Pacific. I have finished this trilogy and believe it to be one of the best compilations about the subject one could hope for. If you asked for one single history of America’s war with Japan to the exclusion of others, I’d recommend this one. It is extremely well written and comprehensive.
