“Hey, look me over; lend me an ear…”

Do you mean “overlooking”?
Always reminds me of the vapid, frat guy Kevin Bacon character in Animal House.
The day you began to think of your city councilman, your state legislator, or your congressman as a “leader” instead of your REPRESENTATIVE is the day you became a sheep.

The capital of Minnesota is St. Paul.
I’ve never allowed the term “cis” gender, either man or woman, to enter my vocabulary and I don’t know what it means. I don’t know its derivation and don’t care to. I suspect it’s a sociological term developed by pinheads.

Trivia: Remember the original movie M*A*S*H? The disgruntled army sergeant that is bemoaning his fate having to drive Hawkeye and Trapper John around golfing and geishaing in Tokyo (“Goddamn Army! Goddamn Army jeep!) is the guy who wrote Route 66.

I had the good fortune to road trip on it 50 years ago before I 40 was completed from Barstow, CA to Tucumcari, NM driving my ancient T-Bird. Been out West many times since, but the interstate highway system isn’t the same as Rte 66 even though in many places it’s in the old route roadbed.

Unusual but not crazy. ….wife is 45 and has two nieces in her late 30’s

I had an aunt who was actually one year younger than her oldest brother’s daughter. ie, younger than her niece.
That’s not the I 10 bridge over the Atchafalaya in Louisiana. The bridge pictured is two separate spans and the I 10 bridge over the River in Louisiana is a single span. The eastbound lanes and westbound lanes of I 10 are separated, but converge at the bridge at Whiskey Bay.

the another is a pardon

Prez can’t pardon him for offenses covered by the state’s criminal code. I seriously doubt that he’ll ever get prosecuted by the State of Minnesota even in absentia. However, with Walz and Ellison who knows.

ICE has no lawful basis to detain you…immigration law

Nobody is claiming he exercised police power for an immigration law violation. She was breaking federal law by obstructing a federal law enforcement officer in the performance of his duties. If they were attempting to arrest her, she violated federal law by resisting arrest, possibly with physical force. Then, there is the whole separate issue of whether or not she intended to run him down.

AAA professional baseball in the form of the International League in the ‘50s had teams in Toronto, the original Miami Marlins, and a team in Havana among other cities.

Should have been “next” 60+ years ago.
And, she has also pointed out that the Venezuelan state security system is based on the totalitarian communist Cuban model with on scene Cuban participation. All of which is a manifestation of Soviet era iron fisted rule.
If you were to design a country and its weaponry to be defended from land invasion, it would in fact be Switzerland. They’ve got roll’em out large caliber anti-armour impacements in fortified caves on every highway in the country. Their military/militia is absolutely exceptional. I guess if someone dropped 30,000 airborne troops on Lucerne, the Swiss might run out of bullets that morning, but they’d resupply and kill ‘em in the afternoon.
