Webb' Fields of Fire was great. A Country Such as This was also very good. It was, in part, based on Murphy Neal Jones who lives in the Covington area.

10 Part series so it's a time investment. Only read the 1st one but the characters are great. And it's a great fictional insight into the USMC during WW2 and Korea (though only the last few deal w Korea)

I've read them. It's a fun read I guess. Nothing spectacular though.

The Emperor's General is also very good and I REALLY liked Fields of Fire. James Webb is is an interesting guy to say the least. A marine that was heavily decorated in Vietnam, Secretary of the Navy, US Senator, and an excellent author. That's a busy life.

Very entertaining read, feels like a Marine Corp fairy tale though. Will leave it at that to avoid spoilers.

Would still recommend if you enjoy the genre.

I will add that series is a little juvenile sometimes, however, it is very entertaining.

I thoroughly enjoyed the whole series as an escape. I listened to the audio versions
