The ones Thatguy is referring to as Sophia's, the ones who not only haven't read it they are so proud of their illiteracy they bitch if you discuss the show then they bitch about why things are like they are. The answer to 95 percent of their questions is that is how it is in the GN and they still freak out.

Is rick going to pull out the phone again?? I hope not, I hated that in the comics.
I'm hoping the show has moved on from that.

Sorry to hear that. Do you want us to shoot you in the head should your condition deteriorate further?

I liked the phone thing and him being able to relate to Michonne, the comic deals a lot with showing how everyone copes with living in basically an insane world.

I think Carl and the dead rat girl are headed for a face off with Carl eventually killing her.
I also think Carol will be allowed back in the group, I could even see her being the one that saves Rick/Carl.
Will the finale be the group reuniting?? I really can't think of anything else it could be, unless it's Carl killing the girl.

This is what I mean by the non-readers I'm referring to.
quote:
Non-readers: I have no idea what the comic is about, and I don't want to, and I don't want to be spoiled. And even though I don't known where the group is going, this show is still moving slow and I hate it. frick having patience and understanding, I'm not watching anymore. Please don't spoil the show for me.
Readers: The comic is nothing like the show, so why is everyone freaking out?

I think by the time we get to the finale, they'll already be reunited, but at the end they'll be heading out to search for ASZ.

that would suck if they take the whole 2nd season to meet up, I think they meet up 1st-2nd episode and then it goes until they find another permanent residence.

Question about the comics/the show. Last night on Talking dead they showed a preview of the second half of the current season. In the scene Carl was leading 2 walkers down a road in a subdivision. Kirkman said comic readers know what that is. I read them and the only thing I can gather is that is when they got into the first neighborhood after the prison fell. They were clearing the houses of walkers so they could move in. Am I right?

It's issue 49-50. It's when Rick is incapacitated and near death, and Carl has to lure the roamers away from the house Rick and Carl are held up in.

It's not like it takes a lot of time to read TWD source material. What really gets me is the people who say "well I'm too old to read comics" or "comics are for nerds". But then they openly watch shows about zombies and dragons and shite. I mean wtf?
Plus I was way behind on the books, but I was able to read the last 17 in a couple an hour or so last night.

I think they'll take two episodes to show that Carl is tough enough to take care of his Dad and be capable to stand on his own.
The other half of two episodes will be Abraham and his group meeting up with the survivors.
Then episodes 3-4 will be Rick and Carl meeting with the new group and old friends, and the end will be them stumbling upon the new community and a sense of hope and rebuilding ending the season.
Then we get a shot of Negan at the end staring at the community.
Something to that affect.

This makes me roll my eyes everytime. Some of the best writing and story lines I've ever had the pleasure of reading were in comic form.

One of the best writers out there right now is a comic writer, and helped DC make the New 52 reboot one of the biggest successes in comic history. Sense then Batman has been a top 3 selling comic, and Swamp Thing has been getting raves of critics. (Both of which he writes for.) He also launched the very successful Superman: Unchained with Jim Lee. That man is Scott Snyder, and even Bill Ramey of Batman on Film was trying to get Snyder to write the next trilogy of films.
People that look down on comics has clearly never opened one up and that shows the narrow minded attitude that they carry.

I can't wait for that first episode coming in Feb. I don't think the tv version will hit me quite as hard since Carl is older and Lori has long been dead vs the comic situation but it will still be really good.
I have a little boy that's comicbook Carl's age so his journey has impacted more than any of the others.

That's pretty cool man. And I agree the TV version won't have the emotion of the comic because TV Carl is already understanding what it takes to survive.

I saw in the non-reader thread that a lot of them think Judith is dead.
I haven't caught up with this thread yet or all of that one but was thinking it was fairly obvious that she's still alive and on the bus.
The bloody car seat was a setup by the writers so that Rick/Carl can think she's dead.
