OU is about to be an SEC school. I just don’t see enough to compel Riley to want to leave Oklahoma

He has it made and the only negative was playing in the B12.

I think y’all have that backwards. You put OU in the SEC the last 5 years and they probably have zero playoff appearances playing a full SEC schedule.

His biggest advantage was playing in the B12 and that’s about to come to an end.

I’d say if they weren’t moving to the SEC he’d be more likely to stay at OU.

That’s a very astute observation!

Except Kiffin hasn’t had the college success.
Post less.

How about the fact that Louisiana currently has 15 recruits in the top 300 compared with 5 for Oklahoma?

OU is also struggling to recruit in their most important area- Texas. Jimbo and Sark are winning those battles. There is a huge advantage when your pipeline to talent is instate, like at LSU.

You kill all credibility with me when you throw quote:

Urban Meyer, name in there

Read the text again. I posted the names of all the coaches who were somewhat comparable to Riley. Then asked which could be at the top of Woodward’s list. Never noted that Urban was. So you can calm down now. :)

Exactly what the sports analysts were noting, Kiffin’s resume in college is suspect or incomplete.

Doesn’t mean shite.

quote:

Urban Meyer

Steps in it everywhere he goes. Not a long term solution.

quote:

Joe Brady

Has never run a program in his life, let alone one as big, demanding and competitive as the LSU job.

quote:

Ryan Day

OSU is a destination job. LSU is also but I don’t see him leaving one for another when he has roots and successful record where he is at. At most he may try to get a pay raise out of it.

quote:

Brian Kelly
Gets a school with more talent that could compete for championships regularly.

quote:

Chip Kelly
Haven’t seen his name kicked around much, but could see him wanting to get back in a program that competes at the top level of football and LSU can get him there in a hurry.

quote:

Jimbo
Just don’t see it happening. That ship sailed under Aleva and ain’t coming back.

quote:

Lincoln Riley
Solid coach, probably be more competitive in the SEC then at OU but has roots in a University that is also a top job and sometimes the situation you know is better then the situation you don’t know in terms of administration, boosters, community, but still I think a hyper competitive person would take the LSU job over OU if he wasn’t already intrenched in the program. Advantage OU but I think possible. Would be an awesome get.

quote:

Kiffin.
Probably won’t make the cut, but damn it would be fun to watch him take the Tigers into battle every week, but doesn’t have the resume in terms of stability and history of success that Woody would probably prefer.

Day also trust Burrow enough to ask him about LSU. There’s that.

Then please give us your names of coaches available that are comparable to Lincoln Riley who could join Riley at the top of Woodward’s list. That was the whole intent, to deduce who was 1-B?

This is Woodward's selling point along with LSU's last three coaches have all won a national championship. And elite defensive players continue to be Riley's missing piece, not anymore if he's the head coach of LSU!

My latest is Kiffin solely based on the weirdness that is going on with Woodward and O in this whole transition thing. O is so comfortable about it and recruiting hard for LSU still it is almost that he knows and approves of who the successor is. There is only one guy that would fit that description and that is Kiffin.

Okay. That's not a crazy train of thought

Oklahoma's recruiting will never, I repeat never be as easy as it is at LSU. It's a huge built-in advantage, even if OU is a true blue blood with clout

Just compare their last five classes to ours. Coming to the SEC only makes that more precarious
