Watch him go there and beat Clemson, FSU and Miami on a regular basis. Former two may not be as challenging as the latter, but still, he could have VT winning ACC titles and in the playoffs if all goes well. No OSU or Michigan and their level of spending in the ACC.

I'd be thrilled if I was VaTech. They are not an upper echelon program so the standards aren't the same.
Franklin is a damn good coach and would do really well there. VaTech being competitive yearly would be a huge thing for them

The quotes in the OP have a lot of words, but don't really say much of anything. 
Franklin has been unemployed for weeks and VT has had an opening for weeks. It would be bigger news if they had NOT been in contact with each other.
Yesterday there was a thread saying the smoke was forming around Silverfield. So basically nobody knows anything yet.
