re: Great article on LSU/ Kiffin

No doubt Kiffin will blow it against Alabama just like he always does, but if Kiffin somehow wins then I’m holding Saban responsible for backstabbing the Crimson Tide. Is it fair to drag Saban into Kiffin’s mess? This is the SEC. Retired Alabama legends don’t help LSU. There’s a code, and Saban broke it.

Screw this conveniently invented "code".

All this statement demonstrates is that the pearl-clutching and virtue-signaling about Lane leaving Ole Miss has nothing to do with "pride", "valor", "integrity", etc. The anger is simply driven by the fear that LSU could be really good for the foreseeable future.

a team that couldn't beat SMU and Louisville isnt going to beat IU.

Miami nearly won both of those games despite Beck throwing a combined 6 INTs.

If he takes care of the ball like he has done in the CFP thus far, of course they have a chance to win.
quote:

Ok. So after he got hurt he realized he had been passed over as a starter and decided to move on.........

Jeff Sims is out of eligibility, though. Leavitt would have had the starting job back at ASU next year if he was healthy.

If Dillingham actually told his presumptive starter to move on, that could be a red flag.

While it is not entirely uncommon for players to occasionally miss the team's end-of-year banquet, team captains and star players are usually the first ones to arrive. Leavitt met both descriptions, but he was not present Sunday night for the team banquet, raising eyebrows.

quote:

Reportedly, Leavitt had not communicated to Dillingham or others that he would not be present at the banquet. Some in attendance took Dillingham's comments as an ironic shot at the quarterback for no-showing on the banquet.

quote:

It has been previously reported that there were tensions in the locker room with Leavitt since his season was ended due to injury. A lack of public acknowledgement for backup Jeff Sims' stellar performances - especially after Sims had his game jersey from a record-setting performance against Iowa State inducted into the Arizona State Hall of Fame - was not well-received in the locker room.

There was also apparently consternation over Leavitt not staying in the stadium for the home game against West Virginia, with some noting that he could have easily gotten a seat up in the booth if he simply needed to be away from the sideline for injury recovery purposes.

This is how we know that you're stupid.

TCU won the Big 12 when it was still the Big12 with a 12-1 record and they beat a 13-0 Michigan team to reach the finals. No DEI.

Exactly, I'm not sure what TCU has to do with this.

OP is dumb or doesn't watch much college football. Probably both.

I could see this being a really tight game IF Miami cleans up the stupid self-inflicted errors.

The best defense IU played before this was Ohio State, and they had to grind that win out. Miami's D could absolutely make it a struggle.

He shouldn’t be on the hot seat but he’s obviously overrated.

People give Ryan Day shite, and rightfully so, but Lanning should be getting it significantly worse.

I agree. Lanning gets a pass for some reason when he probably shouldn't.

His biggest win was the B1G Championship last season, and he beat James Franklin, the poster boy of losing big games. And Penn State still hung almost 600 yds of total offense on Lanning's defense that night.

I never want to hear "It's hard to beat a team twice in one season" ever again.

I'm surprised to hear Saban say it so often. He was doing this back in 2003.

Let's not crown them just yet. People were saying this about 1998 KSU and they 2025 Jays'd it against A&M

shite, people forget 2003 Oklahoma was being considered the greatest team ever up until the Big XII CG.

The only somewhat competitive game they played during the regular season was at Bama in week 2. They were blasting everybody.

Celmsoning is having the win in hand and doing something ridiculous to frick it up over and over.

No it wasn't.

The most Clemsoning shite ever was the Orange Bowl where WVU hung 70 on them. And the 2013 FSU game where they were home favorites and gave up 51.

From Urban Dictionary in 2013:

1. The act of failing miserably on a grand athletic stage, or when the stakes are high. 2. Record-setting failure, usually reserved for college football.

ETA one of my favorite gifs ever:

The facemask question was embarrassing.

My favorite was when Beck ran for a 1st down on one play, he said, "the big guy with a block on the edge."

The "big guy" was Malachi Toney.

He tried to correct himself by saying it was a "big block" instead, but he still kind of flubbed his words.
quote:

The deceased in this case at the VERY least appears to have been potentially trying to escape, which is the difference. You can't examine this video and the others with a unbiased eye and tell me that she was, unequivocally and without a doubt, intentionally trying to run anyone over after visibly backing up and continuously turning the wheel to her right.

Eh, I don't know. She started backing up and then took off before her wife could even open the door to get into the car, so she was trying to escape without her?

She clearly hit the gas when she put it in drive, too. It wasn't like she was just creeping forward, trying to nudge the agent out of the way, which alone is still a problem.

Okay fine, let's say her intent was just to scare the agent out of the way and not actually run him over. How's the agent supposed to know that? Wait until his skull is cracked open like a watermelon?
quote:

2003 bruh. I still remember the EA Sports NCAA Football 2003 cover.

More like 2001. That was the year they finished #2 and should have played Miami in the Rose Bowl, but the BCS computers and pollsters hated the Pac 10.

ETA: Harrington was on the NCAA 2003 cover because the game was for the 2002 season, and Harrington had just been drafted.

Asking because Nebraska is not a QB pipeline to NFL , so QB developers they’re not.

His dad was an All-American at Nebraska.

Like another poster said, he wasn't playing too bad this season before the injury. Nebraska had a pretty bad OL in front of him though.

I've read he's asking for too much money now. He signed that sponsorship deal with adidas before last season, so I don't know if that's playing a factor into where he signs, or there's a buyout if a non-adidas school wants him.
quote:

Also, that OM receiver got mugged in the endzone. If that's an LSU WR, then we're burning the stadium down and hunting for the refs.

Meh. The Ole Miss WR also had the CB by the jersey collar.

Like Lemonnier said, mutual contact. No way a flag should be thrown there.
Miami is simply retarded. You still have 2 TOs.
If I were a Miami fan close to their sideline, I'd be losing my shite screaming at the coaches to run the ball.
This game is maddening to watch. The best defense on the field has been Miami's offense.
I'm baffled by Miami's playcalling. Their O-line is feasting. Run the damn ball.
