Currently as it stands at LSU Les isn't letting anyone go, including Crowton. Unless Crowton gets hired away he'll be back next year.

Think most people have come to grips with this conclusion, that Crowton will not be let go. Will not surprise a lot of people.

I have not come to grips with this. It amazes me anyone could possibly think its a good idea to bring him back. I'm infuriated even thinking about it.

I am not OK with it, but have predicted this would be the scenario all along. Miles isn't gonna fire Crowton, simply because he is neck deep in the offense himself. The only way Crowton leaves IMO, is if he finds alternative employment or Miles leaves LSU.

What has Miles ever done to make you think he would relieve Crowton of his duties? I just don't see it happening.

he did whack the malveto experiment when it was obvious they were in over their head.

crowton was great in 07, and has gone downhill every year since hes been here. its simply not good enough to have all that talent and have trouble moving the ball and scoring points. someone has to be accountable for the last 2 years of atrocious offense

By no means am I trying to knock your source but if this true why was he qouted as saying that "he didnt want to talk about that right now" when it was asked whether Crowton would be back.....For a guy that goes out of his way to protect the coaches and players who are being knocked and will talk in circles around a question and never actually answer it (which I have no problem with) he has to know "not wanting to talk about it" says volumes about the situation. Maybe its just blind hope but unless GC signs an extension I or is in the booth in the first game next year I will hold out believing that he wont be our OC next season. JMHO.

Pellini is not known as great recruiter

thus, he couldn't keep up with the Saban's and Meyers' in this league...

Appears to me the administration has said they would not force any changes, and Crowton has stated he isn't looking elsewhere.

Very true and I know there is mutual interest on LSU's side if Les ever leaves/fired.

I am not convinced the malveto experiment would have gone away had they two parties not accepted other jobs.

but there is some language in his contract that allows Michigan to save a couple million $$$ by waiting until Jan 1 to let him go.

From the Detroit Free Press:

"He also could be fired for his poor record -- he's 13-19 after nearly three years -- but then U-M would need to pay him a $4-million buyout, a number that decreases to $2.5 million after Jan. 1 in the fourth year of his contract." LINK

Looks like you're right. Coupled with the Michigan AD's comments that he will evaluate things after the bowl game, I bet RR is munching on Tums.

i think les told them to find somewhere else to coach. he didnt publicly fire them, but i took from the situation they were not exactly welcomed back as co-DCs

Not sure, but again, think they would have returned if they couldn't find suitable employment. It's all speculation at this point.

From listening to Crowton, he hasn't been asked to find another job. He will be back IMO.
