Remember watching Saban slowly build a monster at bama and how horrifying it was to watch in real time ?
Now imagine that at full warp speed.
The dude took a bulldozer to a terrible offensive roster and is a few OL commits away from not only rebuilding it but making it on paper a top level one.
The people freaking out two days into the opening cough wolfcola cough look pretty dumb
The downside ? Going to be a long offseason because it’s the first football season in a bit I’ve been truly hyped about…. Oh yeah and we get to kick it off at home against a quality opponent
Now imagine that at full warp speed.

Been a wild ride for Ole Miss fans…
You win two playoff games, including a fluke upset over playoff favorite UGA, and suddenly you think “who needs Lane?” In between games you lock down the roster so Lane can’t pillage it setting up to run it back next season, and you’re sitting on a late 4th-quarter lead against a Miami team that looked completely fricking dead.
Then it all comes crashing down
Miami drives the length of the field on your new head coach’s defense like it’s a walkthrough, takes the lead, and since then it’s been nothing but an endless buffet of shite. Players bolting, staff falling apart, momentum gone, vibes dead — Lane reversed the car to run over the program one more time to make sure it’s dead
I’d feel bad for them if Ole Miss fans were remotely likable people

We may have actually gotten Leavitt with BK and probably a big named WR, but he would have suffered a similar fate to Nuss. Stuck in a bad offense and being abused due to poor OL play.
even had BK survived 2025, there was no way he wasn't getting shite canned in 2026. Baker likely gets off the sinking ship and takes the Tulane job, huge exodus on D, and a putrid offense. It would have been a really bad season
Painful check to write but it had to be done, there was no possible way for him to right the ship even if he suddenly decided to give some effort.

the man that tossed him under the bus is gone and he knows people here have wanted him back (fans included) since being dismissed so I doubt he has any spite towards the school itself

I honestly have watched such little basketball since he took over.

Well the new staff seems to disagree because they didn’t prioritize him and signed a ton or WRs
He may have been considered a talented recruit at some point but nothing he’s done here shows it. We can blame the scheme but truly talented guys still make plays…see green
