This hire is being severely underestimated.
The man headed a defense that led their teams to undefeated records in 04 and 05.
He held LSU to 7 points in 2002 and 9 points in 2004..
There is a term to describe his defenses at Auburn and Texas--"Wicked"
At Auburn, his team led the nation in scoring defense in 2004 (11.3 pts per game).
I think Auburn's gonna be OK.

Chizik wins with superior talent. I.E. Texas-Auburn. He can't coach talent up. His leadership is susupect at best.
The guy is clueless when it comes to running the entire program. Auburn will be looking for another "non head coach" in 3 years.

Some coaches are great coordinators but not good head coaches. I would rather have a guy like Turner Gill who has turned a program around and is up and coming if I'm going to take a risk. I thought they should have gone after the Wake Forest coach really hard or Leach or possibly Paul Johnson even though he has only been at G Tech for 1 year. But then again I never thought they should have fired Tubberville.

Damn ... I can't hate Auburn as much anymore. I used to hate Florida because of Spurrier ... then he left. So then it became Auburn, because of Tubs ... now he's gone. Luckily, Saban makes my choice for my next most hated SEC team really easy. Buck Fama !!! Geaux Tigers !!!
