He doesn't think the 15 ranked defense based on points is good enough.

Imagine how good it would have been if our offense were even average.. Top 10 unit easily.

I want Tulane to keep on the upward trajectory but I feel like Baker could be an SEC head coach in 2 years. Tulane seems like a step backwards IMO.
Jon Sumrall was literally at Tulane for 2 years and is now a major SEC head coach. Tulane is probably good for Baker to get some HC experience before moving up to the big leagues.

Tulane is in a good spot to keep winning with the right coach. We are top 3 in the conference with NIL money and coaching salary.

We still have some facility issues but Fritz and Sumrall were able to win with it.

I’m not a fan of hiring a coach with no head coaching experience but if Baker elevates Will Hall to OC and let’s him run the offense Baker could have his pick of a power conference job after a year or two.

Tulane Alum have figured out its ok to shell out some of that $$$ to the athletic side of the school. Tulane is a great landing spot for up and comers who want to move on to the bigger schools after proving themselves.

That and I think certain money people have made it clear that they are fine with hiring a new coach every 2-3 years.

Hard to imagine

Hes making 2.5M at LSU. Tulane only offered 4M to try and keep Sumrall. Doubt that would slap Sumrall in the face by offering close to the same to a coordinator

They may want Baker, but if he takes a small raise to "go home", only an hour away, then he might soon end up outside the state of La altogether. Kiffin will win enough games to keep him here for awhile

Tough call on his and his families part
