They both have everything you need to be successful, but I would take LSU over Florida because the compliance dept wouldn't be all up your arse at LSU. Although LSU may be changing under their new leadership.

Florida.
No state income tax and future President of the US as governor.

LSU by a hair. There are a LOT of d1 schools in Florida to compete with.

I would say about the same. UF might have a little bigger and well heeled alumni base

I would say about the same as well.

They are very close. I’m ready for both to get great coaches so we can go back to dominating the east and west. Those were fun years.

I agree, and truly wish we could leave politics out of evaluating whether LSU or Florida is a better coaching job. Unfortunately, between potential vaccine mandates by state, funding, and other mandates by state usually based on the political environment, it’s now a factor to consider. I’m sure the coaches are considering it.

Not sure why so many downvotes. We have an idiot running the state that should be back in his podunk small town suing insurance companies, Florida has a Governor that will be President one day. And our idiot thinks he’s King and likes to meddle in LSU issues. Add in our crime rate in Baton Rouge and fricked up traffic and education, from a non-football perspective, it’s not even close.
That said, we had two total buffoons win National Championships, and damn near a third, so the football part is better here than there.

No prospective football coach gives a good god damn about any governor
Jesus you people are weird. Truly strange people.

So are you saying a coach won’t consider vaccine mandates limiting the ability to recruit? Last study I read was that approximately 40% of African Americans are resisting the vaccine. That won’t impact recruiting if it comes to LA like in Washington State?

No. Not at all. How many CFB players or games have been impacted by Covid this year? It’s safe to assume the high majority of these kids are vaccinated. It’s not an issue in the slightest.

When the sitting Governor threatened to cancel LSU football to jam his tax increases through, you’re damn right any coach bothering to do a little diligence would factor that in. The Governor of Louisiana is de facto his boss via the BOS, so Hell yeah it’s a factor. You must not understand the chain of command very well.
AND, a Governor that has the state last and dropping in every major nationwide ranking makes it that much harder to recruit staff and OOS players. So yeah, it does matter.

Will you please STFU about politics? Like religion, no one gives a flying frick about your perspective on politics and it has nothing at all to do with the coaching search.
If you want to talk politics there’s a board for that. fricking loser.

But it often depends on the success of FSU. If they or Miami are up then coaching at FL is more difficult for sure.
FL, FSU, and Miami were all constantly highly ranked in the 90's and early 2000 and it was fun for college football.
