All other things being equal FL is a better state than LA. Politics may not be decisive but it is a factor.

There's a reason Tiger Woods chose to set up shop in FL instead of CA.

Any coach planning on staying a while and looking at his finances will quickly realize FL is preferable to LA.

Kinda interesting that we were both in the market for a HC after '04 as well.

Pretty sure LSU’s talent is on par with UF if not better.

I agree. In state and no other major college to compete with recruiting. Louisiana is far better.

5 years ago I would have leaned Florida (due to all of the in state talent in Florida).

Now I would lean LSU because the University/Students/Administration don't seem to be all that supportive or passionate at Florida.

It's difficult to win big time without the full backing of the school and administration.

LMAO!

Florida has 3X as many blue chips and their talent base is growing. Not so much with Louisiana and Alabama will produce more talent and blue chips within the next 5 years...growing population with a much higher participation rate.

The Florida Gators under Steve Spurrier in the 1990s was tough to beat. Urban Meyer from 2005 to 2010 was excellent.

That’s the coaches it took Florida to win a natty.

At LSU coaches the likes of miles, and Ogreon can win one. LSU is the better job.

Both programs need an elite coach. But if they get the right guy, they can be dominant

This is why I think LSU is the better job. Florida has only won with elite coaches.

LSU won with Les Miles and Ed Orgeron. Not in their wildest dreams would those 2 be considered elite.

Interestingly, before NIL, LSU was unquestionably the better spot but now, with Florida being a no tax state with good opportunities to cash in, their program makes more sense from that standpoint.

As for talent though, we offer the best on a consistent basis without any in state competition

Florida has Miami, Florida state, and univ Florida plus UCF out there taking some talent

Florida also has Fla. St., Miami, & now UCF & South Fla. to compete with. LSU has no other major university to compete within state and has PLENTY of talent in state to go after.

Houston, not to mention Beaumont, is 4 hrs from BR.

It has a population comparable to Jacksonville, Orkando, and Tampa combined. LSU recruits the heck out of Houston. And whereas LA may not be growing, Houston certainly is.

It is part of our natural recruiting footprint.
