Nvda is in the UN enviable position of high expectations
They can beat but the market wants them to beat more than “expectations”
The markets got it wrong

Anyone see cheniere earnings?
Net income increased approximately $1.3 billion and $2.1 billion for the three and twelve months ended December 31, 2025, respectively, as compared to the corresponding 2024 periods.
Stocks getting a nice run.
I would expect this to carry over to Venture

re: The only way to fix this country is to stop voting

Not voting is drastic but there’s something that can be done before that
De register as either dem or Republican.
Make them work for your vote

Putting a letter next to your name just means they have you wrapped up. You no longer matter. They take you for granted.
Frankly, I think anyone that requires alliance to a political party is generally feckless. It’s political insecurity.
Independents keep them guessing.

re: For those who claim tariffs are cost passed onto the consumer....

Tariffs, imo, are a good way to curb our reliance on imports and protect our industry. They’re not in any way suitable as a sole source of taxation to run a country of our size.
Most economists place a range of 150-300 billion a year that can be had through tariffs. For the past 12 months, the amount is below 200billion.
We will never replace the income tax with a tariff based system. We’re also not going to build our manufacturing base back through tariffs. Heck, manufacturing jobs have declined since trump started with tariffs.
Ideally, I prefer a consumption tax
It’s far more fair way to levy a tax.
It invites capital
For those that care about the environment, it can have big impacts on greenhouse gas, landfill, and other waste byproducts of consumption

I hate taxes too but realize the need to run a government
My favored tax scheme is to use a consumption taxation system. Tariffs are a part of that
What I don’t like is arbitrary application of taxes and that’s what happened here. Trump did it without any consent and without a balanced offset. He cost me more on imported products both as a business owner and consumer.

Here’s what happened in many cases
Company A receives goods from overseas and absorbs the tariffs on whole or part.
Company B receives goods from overseas and passes tariffs onto the consumer.
The difference in the companies is that company A is large national company - (think Walmart)
Company B is small mom and pop - (think local hardware store or other retailer)
The tariffs hurt small companies while helping the large companies who can afford to absorb the tariffs- at least for a while
The companies who absorbed the tariffs are now going to want that money back. And they should. As an investor, I want them to get that money back.

Names of winter Olympic American athletes who disparaged the US.
Posted by SlidellCajun on 2/23/26 at 5:52 pm
Just fyi-
Here is a list of the Athletes at the 2026 Winter Olympics who expressed anti American sentiments-
1. Hunter Hess – U.S. freestyle skier
• Said he had “mixed emotions” about representing the United States due to the current political climate and did not feel he represented everything that’s going on in the U.S. right now.
• Some commentators — including former President Donald Trump — called these comments anti-patriotic or “anti-American.”
2. Chris Lillis – U.S. freestyle skier
• Spoke at a press conference saying he was “heartbroken” about some things happening in the United States and emphasizing respect and rights.
• These remarks were also framed by critics as unpatriotic commentary on U.S. policies rather than focused strictly on sport.
3. Amber Glenn – U.S. figure skater
• Made public comments about politics in the U.S., emphasizing that athletes have voices beyond sport. These remarks were interpreted by some observers as politically critical of the country.
I call for a boycott

Trump wants to bring back manufacturing jobs. Tariffs were his plan to make that happen.
We continue to see job declines in manufacturing. Tariffs aren’t working.
We will see an advancement in robotics.
How do you propose we increase our manufacturing jobs like trump wants?

Only issue I have with this is the impact of these tariffs on small business.
The large companies can afford to absorb these tariffs if they want to buy the small guys can’t.
It hurts small business

The left used to be all about protecting the working class. They said they cared about the loss of jobs overseas but they were the ones who sold out to China and others. Both Democrats and republicans have sold out the working class for the past 50 years.
Business is going to migrate to the most efficient market.
Jobs went over seas because of horrible trade deals and unreasonable demands on business in the US. High min wage, “safety” concerns, steep regulations on environmental impacts etc. business said “f” dat- we just go to China etal and sidestep all this.
Trump said he wants to bring back these jobs and industry so he levies steep tariffs on the goods imported to level the playing field but it isn’t working. Manufacturing jobs continue to decline. It isn’t going to happen either.
If we want to bring back manufacturing we have to provide a financially viable environment. Get rid of the minimum wage. Reduce environmental regulations. Lower tax burdens on manufacturing.
None of this is going to happen. We have become a highly civilized country and with that, we have shut out manufacturing on the lower scale.

AI isn’t going to be able to account for emotion based market action. It’ll be better suited to finding companies that fit various measurables like PE ratio, price to book, historical price relevance, and other metrics that can be measured.

Yeah that was a total failure.
There were posters here holding El Salvador in the highest regard for making the conversion but they quiet now.
Today we see more selling. Seems to me that it ought to be gaping up.
Tariff refunds. International turmoil.
Why is it going down?
