In 1987, LSU promoted DC Mike Archer to be the HC when Arnsparger left to be the AD at Florida. He was hired over Steve Spurrier, Mack Brown and Mike Shanahan. LSU was as high as #5 in the nation in 87. This hire is why LSU football was irrelevant in the 90s for you young folks.

All we need is a top OC and Special Teams coaching move to compete at the top. Nick Saban had the 'deer in the headlight' look running into the fourth quarter; a mobile qb would have sealed it. If O can keep the talent coming, we are good to go.
