BigKat...your post makes me feel like y'all are in "trouble".

There is no white knight out there for you guys and your best options are either a) first time HCs b)unproven at a high level (except Richt but how real is that?)

My aggie "hatred" is all in fun and even a BU/LSU guy is starting to hope you guys snap out of this series of "interesting" decisions and unfortunate circumstances and pull a rabbit out of the hat.

I would like to know where you get your maroon koolaid big kat because I'm obviously not up to par with your aggie-ness. Sumlin was our choice before the C-USA championship. Then he got his arse handed to him and his value tanked (should have never been that high to begin with). This "process" was a smoke screen by the admin and AD to save face with the fans and big donors that actually had a fricking clue what a good coach looks like.

Sumlin better hire Jesus as his DC, Moses as his OC and the disciples as his position coaches because otherwise we are getting our asses handed to us.

timing is huge when looking for a HC. bama got saban after they had struck out for years with coaching hires. i assume that your powers that be didn't fire sherman until they had a pretty good idea who they wanted. it is imperitive that y'all take a step up right now and you certainly have paid for it. with the right guy AND with a staff that can recruit, A&M will be a force to be reckoned with. oh, maybe i should say i hope you make a mistake hire.

I am thinking its sumlin. Gosh what a sh** show Texas A&M football is. Why is it that fans can see what our leaders cannot? Talk about a lateral move from Sherman to Sumlin. Also hearing Sumlin will keep his offensive staff from UH and keep our defensive staff. What a joke. A mediocre coach with a mediocre staff. Guess we like getting by every team we play. Nothing changes and it is frustrating as hell

Didn't say he was, he's his Co-OC/QB coach. Word is sumlin would bring most of his offensive coaching staff with him, including, you guessed it, Kingsbury. Plus Sumlins whole offense is based off spread and always has been. Don't see it changing.

I wouldn't bet against it. If its a bidding war, no way hell Bama could out bid A&M.

Living in Tejas, I concur--Aggies can get their hands on more $$$ than the Bammers.

I just wish there was a modicum of evidence supporting Sumlin being successful. I can't find any...

Jackie Sherrill, similar to KSU/Bill Snyder. JS brings some top coordinators & makes one of them coach-in-waiting.

He's a great recruiter. Big reason AD went to Oklahoma. he's recruited better than Fedora for the past 3 years. He keeps our current class intact and will add wheeler and a few others that Sherm scoffed at. he beat teams that Fedora lost to ( i know, i know)

honestly, I wanted Fedora, I think that was the consensus. But in reality, all these guys are not sure things.

as far as defense. I'm almost certain he wouldn't have got the job if that wasn't addressed. Defense is 80% talent 20 % coaching. If Sumlin can recruit the talent here and make the hires we expect him to make, then it should work out.

quit with the "we're fricked" BS. I honestly beleive that if Fedora graded out that much higher then he would be our coach. Sumlin must have killed it in the interview.

Some of y'all didn't get my tongue in cheek humor.

We'll be hiring Sunlin likely but I'm fine with that. He can be very successful at A&M.

And stop with the air raid shite. He ran that at UH because it worked. When he led an unranked Aggie team over OU in 2002 we didn't air raid. His 5 years at OU weren't the air raid with Adrian Peterson that he recruited there. He runs an offense that produces.

Keep DeRuyter and let's kick some (not all) SEC arse

ya'll should buck up and pay charlie strong what he wants

he knows defense which ya'll need, and knows what it takes in the SEC

Sumlin is the opposite
