You got it Momma! I too was happy to see they hired someone just to get rid of the rumors...We don't need them right now. Now hopefully all the discussion will move to bigger and better things :)

Belowpar, I saw where you said you might be leaving the other day. Don't do that.

oh I never meant he might be leaving...

There was never any indication that he would leave...I just think that if Michigan didn't hire anyone they would try a last ditch effort, but I didn't know that...Just a guess :)

I am very glad they have hired someone :)

No, I meant to say that you said that YOU might be leaving. Don't do that.

screw you. We have no reason to take any of the head coaches in college for their word. We took Saban at his word and Ok St. took Miles at his. Get off your horse, none of them are much more loyal than a slot machine.

If a person does not have integrity, or experience someone else's integrity, that person may have a hard time recognizing it. That being said, in the subset of human beings mentioned in this quote, which of the two coaches would you trust in a tight situation?

My, my! What a pleasant person you must be! I was mainly referring to the media, but you, obviously, should also be included as the jerk you must be. You definately have issues with trust; not everyone is Nick Saban. I think you need to investigate the circumstances of Les Miles leaving Oklahoma State a little better. By the way, my horse is doing just fine, thank you. You have a "GREAT DAY"!

Almost as entertaining as seeing all these "non-believers" proven wrong...
Is watching their inability to admit they were wrong!

Sorry, but you're wrong on this one.

Do you know why you didn't hear a ton of
"Bob Stoops to Michigan" talk the past month? The reason why is, when he was asked point-blank, he gave a total, complete, no holds barred, 100% "No" as an answer.

If Les Miles had done that when he was first asked, before the Arky game, then maybe you'd have a point.

He didn't. Regardless, it is what it is---we've got CLM for as long as we want him. RichRod is only 44, so he'll rule the roost in Ann Arbor for a LONG time to come.

Miles did not lie with respect to Oklahoma State. It is as simple as that. He never said that "I will be the coach at OSU next season" once LSU made an offer. He was asked what his plans were before he had an offer, and he replied that he planned to be at OSU. He did not have an offer when he made that statement. It was a true statement at the time because LSU had not made an offer.

And as far as loyalty goes, schools don't show any more loyalty to coaches than coaches show to schools. For university admins it is first and foremost a business decision. For coaches, it is a business decision, first and foremost. Fans don't show any loyalty to coaches either, by the way. They are a quick to demand a coach's head if he isn't producing at the level fans expect. So I'm not sure why fans expect so much loyalty from a coach to a university that will cut him lose as quick as can be if he isn't as productive as expected.

But the fact is that Miles did not lie about Oklahoma State. He did sign a contract extension, before he had an offer or negotiations with LSU, but circumstances change, life changes. He never lied, however about the situation once LSU entered the picture, as least as far as the newspaper quotes are concerned.

Actually he did say it quite unequivocably. He said that he would be the coach at LSU the next season and that there was "no wiggle room." He gave an unequivocable answer, but the press and apparently some fans didn't listen or didn't want to hear it.

The Stoops speculation never went far, not so much because of his denial, but because he didn't have the ties to Michigan that Miles did. [After all the explicit denials by Saban didn't stop speculation, did it?] Stoops wasn't one of the coaches that fans and alumni were clamoring for. He didn't play at Michigan, coach at Michigan, etc. The media was not going to let it rest no matter what until another coach was named.
