This is why. While they have a ton of oil, it is shitty oil. Valero used to buy it for 25 cents on the dollar bc it is so difficult to refine and the yield per barrel is lower than lighter crude. Not all refineries can refine their oil so we would never put it in our SOR. We will still make a killing on it, just not rely on it.
