I agree. This is not something Miles would do. It would be waaaay out of character.

Coach Miles changing his mind & going to Michigan is a "possibilty" but totally unrealistic. That would put him in the Saban catagory, both locally and nationally, and Coach Miles is NOT Saban. He has morals and ethics. When he said: "no wiggle room", "this is home", "I am home", "I will be the coach at LSU next year",when he has been quoted by several recruits saying the same things, do you honestly think he would change his mind and pull a Saban?

I would not be suprised to learn that LSU did not increase the buyout amount because Miles gave O'Keefe et al his "word" that he is staying and they said that is good enought for them. It maybe that Miles would have considered it an insult to raise the amount after he gave his word. Either way, it seems very very unlikely that Miles will go this time especially after getting into the nc. However, if the next Mich coach is fired after 3-4 seasons and Miles continues to succeed at LSU then he may again consider going.

I think you hit the nail on the head. If in 3-4 years Michigan is again seeking a coach, and Martin is no longer AD, Carr is completely retired from the Athletic Dept., and maybe there is a new president at Michigan, then the situation might change. I can't see that Miles would, or should close the door to the Michigan job somewhere down the line. I do think that it is highly unlikely that it will happen this year. To much has happened to make it very plausible for now.

why is it so hard to believe that LSU is a good job? That is all I want to know from Michigan. Are we not in the NCG. Is it possible for us to be the first 2 time winner in the BCS history. Are we chopped meat or something.

I agree, nothing for LSU to worry about.

Michigan hasn't made a hire because hiring a coach is harder than it looks. They have already lost 2 prominent prospects, Miles and Schiano, and in a publicly embarrassing fashion. It is not clear that Michigan is willing to commit the money to salary necessary for the high profile prospects, or to give the new coach sufficient support for hiring and paying assistants. Also there is the question of commitments that Michigan made in giving assistants 2 year contracts, which means they have contracts with Michigan through next season. Would Michigan give the new coach the ability to hire new assistants if he didn't want to keep Carr's guys in place? Michigan is making it more difficult for prospects to accept the position than it should be.
