Knocking him for his "sport" is one thing. But calling him a traitor to America is either ignorant or just showing how little you know about he & his family His mother is Swedish & every since he was little he & his mother would spend every summer, 3 mths, staying with his Swedish grandparents. He didn't just jump to Sweden to vault in a track meet. As noted, the USOC didn't give him anything. Regardless of Olympic sport, U.S. athletes all have to have full time jobs to support themselves. An athlete has one bad trial, that athlete doesn't make the Olympics. European/world wide athletes are able to have multiple trials to qualify. For his first meet in Europe, his sponsor paid him one million dollars. So you're 19 yrs old & offered a choice of one million dollars or having to find a job on your own....?????

There's a restaurant in Rapinoe's home town that is THE place to eat & be seen. Her pictures covered the walls, even in the restrooms. They have all been taken now. Subway fired her from their commercials after only one showing after there were so many complaints about her.

"Did well in the portal" ? BK last year, took 9 transfers out of the portal. In his last year at O.Miss, CLK brought in 30 or so transfers. Close to 30 again this year.....so far. Those 4-5 OL stars he took in.........????

Not knowing him at all, let alone how he thinks, you'd think that with all this crap he's taking, he'd wanna stay at LSU beyond the 2-3 years that everyone is predicting to "rebuild" his cred. Or he may just say "frick it" & continue to do his thing.

If memory still works, CLK brought in 30 players thru the portal his last recruiting class. How many were considered elite vs how many were developed into SEC-level starters? Too many here seem to be ignoring just how elite CLK & his staff really are.

Several bama podcasts are reporting this story, absent naming which school was offering that much. It is also the story that his draft status has dropped from a first rounder to a mid second rounder. FWIW.

In another podcast, he said that LSU was completely upfront with re their plan for him: He was told that they want him as a 3 yr QB, as a backup/redshirt year QB & then as a 2 yr starter. He said he was "in total agreement " with that, as he too considered himself a 3 yr player. "I want to start but I am looking to be developed into the best I can be" .He repeated several times that the staff was open & up front with him re their plan for him.

Brian Fricking Kelly coached up the last Arizona St. QB transfer to where he became the Heisman winner. Jayden Daniels. Imagine what Lane Kiffin can do with any QB, let alone Leavitt.

I'm an old timer as well, but long gone are those Rodrigues boys from Thibodaux, Bert from Ruston, etc. A safe bet is that almost every Power 5 team is now stocked the same way. The numbers are higher but playing for money vs the Purple & Gold is just a fading memory.

"Real agent".....collegiate athletes' "agents" do not have to be certified like all pro athletes' agents have to be. I.E. anyone can be an agent.;

"Number 1 overall player". What's even a lot more important is both LK & CW wanted him enough to go way beyond the extra mile, money & time spent. And all medical reports cited aside, no doubt they have had access to all the medicals needed for a complete evaluation.

Safe to assume that Lane knows who fits his offense more than anyone here. And that Lanes knows how to look at film better than anyone not a professional coach. That he's spending all this time & money in pursuit of Leavitt is telling in itself.

"Not over"......Thamel reporting that the NCAA had 740+ similar appeals last year & only 20+ were successful .Not good odds.
