LSU may already have a good DC. Interesting transformation the last 2 weeks.

This is true, assuming Riley wants to keep him.

I think Riley is a good choice. I just don't like that we'd have to give him an 8+ year contract at over $10 mil a year to make it work. He could be a great coach, but he might not be the elite coach that we want.

I just think he focuses all his energy on offense,

Their offense hasn’t had any rhythm this year.

His offense has also been shut down outside of garbage time by LSU, Bama and Georgia when it counts.

He can be elite. But he hasn't shown that he can hire a good DC and commit to playing championship defense. I would be happy to have him at LSU. But, I don't see him as the slam dunk/grand slam that others do. I'm also not sure that there is a better option.

They put up 500+ yards and 48 points on UGA (45 in regulation). The other two games were not even close in terms of talent between the two teams.

garbage time by...Georgia

When exactly was garbage time against Georgia? They scored 48 and the game went to overtime.

And basically the entire game against Alabama was garbage time. The score was 28-0 with 13 minutes left in the second quarter.

That's because he's finally been given 100% control of play calling.

You can build a good defense in the B12. OSU is looking pretty damn good on defense. They don't pick those schools because they don't have good coordinators. No defensive players want to play for a weak defense. That's

This is Gubdys best defense in 10+ yrs. Big12 consistently doesn't have good defenses at all. Rhule had some decent at Baylor and Aranda does now. OSU does now. But as a whole and consistently it hasn't existed.

This thread is full of gullible people. Riley can't sign with LSU so it can't be a done deal even if he's in agreement at this point. Getting trolled by an OU poster.

Riley can absolutely sign a memorandum of understanding.

If it's not too late, I bet you guys could rearrange the contract, and get a defensive coordinator thrown in as well *for free*. Give it a thought.

That’s because Lincoln Riley is the equivalent of Tyrone Willingham now that he’s lost a game. Dave Aranda is working on Nick Saban status due to the big win and not the two losses to TCU and Ok Lite.

I can't see Riley keeping any of O's staff if he were to come.

And if you're going to give a guy $12m, you have to give him carte blanche for him to bring his staff. What's the point of spending that much money to restrict his staff hires?
