Funny you say that FL has more talent that LA. Does Saban have a bunch of FL recruits on his team? Seems to always run to LA and steal our guys to help fill out his championship rosters. This happens EVERY year, so I wouldn't put much stock in your comparison. FL has talented kids, don't misunderstand what I am saying. But, if they had an abundance of talent, 3 major college football programs in FL who have a history of winning championships would have at least 1 of them competing for one right now. None of them have a coaching staff better than LSU right now, and that shouldn't be the case for a state that has no state tax (big deal with NIL) and a supposed abundance of talent. LA has a wealth of talent in this state, enough to provide top quality talent for LSU and even other teams.
I think 5 of the top-15 rated players in the state of FL last year committed to Bama.

Saban loves FL... apparently more than Mullen because more top talent in FL went to Bama, Miami, and Maryland (yes- the Terps picked up more top talent in FL than UF) than to UF.

I hope Florida doesn't fire Mullen because I don't want Woodward to have any competition from another upper level SEC program.

I feel like LSU is still the better job. Florida is a shell of its former self and Georgia is slowly becoming the best team in the conference

If Florida hires Lane Kiffin who unlike Dan Mullen can actually recruit, Lane Kiffin will turn Florida into a juggernaut for years to come.

The issue is this is another program that a viable candidate will use to bid against LSU. The more options available for a candidate the higher the pricetag.

With the right coach. As LSU does not recruit itself. Woodward hires the wrong coach and it could all head south very fast.

Florida would be absolutely stupid to jump in the ring with both LSU and USC looking.

Not if they can get Lane Kiffin while he is still available. As Lane Kiffin, who unlike Dan Mullen can really recruit, would inevitably turn Florida into a juggernaut. Of course, he would easily do the same thing for LSU as well.

I think it's a wash as to which is a better job, LSU or UF.

True, but only after I posted this, Saturncube saw my post and started a post with the TBL and Voltiger bat signals.

Honestly you seem pretty worried. You are constantly on here denying he would ever leave. If it’s not happening then why do you continue to post about it?

The thing that really worries me the most is LSU becoming like UF, Tenn, Texas, USC, where they have continually dropped off after going through coach after coach. You give a guy 3-4 yrs and he is gone and that hurts recruiting year after year because of the constant talk about the coaches and changes. I hope SW has his guy and it is somebody that will be here a long time. I just fear of becoming like these other once powerhouses that have become a shadow of their former self.

LSU has shown they can overcome coaching changes while established. Not sure any of those other schools have. Not even Florida.

I like to believe LSU can hire an elite coach and dominate the sport now!

Only with the right coach. With the wrong coach, things can quickly head south.

He is wrong. It's Kiffin because Lane Kiffin is the best qualified coach under consideration and it isn't even close.

I mean, who has a better offensive mind than Lane Kiffin?

Who is a better recruiter than Lane Kiffin?

Who has a better record of success other than Lane Kiffin?

I mean, what are Lane Kiffin's biggest faux pas? Quitting Tennessee after only one year to take the USC job where Lane Kiffin cut his teeth on coaching. Then eventually losing that job because of immaturity and because of the harsh probation sanctions that were placed on USC at the time by the NCAA.

Nonetheless, I don't blame Lane Kiffin for leaving that train wreck at Tennessee and since Lane Kiffin lost the USC job, he has spent three years at Nick Saban's coaching rehabilitation center being the OC, while winning a natty with them in 2015.

Since then he has parlayed a very successful run as a head coach at Florida Atlantic to make the jump up to Ole Miss. Since he has been at Ole Miss, Lane Kiffin, in my opinion, has been the coach of they year in the SEC for completely turning the Ole Miss program around and making it into a contender, and today, he is by far the best and most qualified candidate to become the next head coach of LSU.

In fact, it would be a major faux pas for Woodward to permit Lane Kiffin to remain at Ole Miss because if Scott makes that stupid mistake, it won't be long at all before Lane Kiffin is not only kicking LSU's arse on the recruiting trail but also on the football field every year at the same time.
