I guarantee you Arkansas is a top 6 athletic program in the SEC.

Our football program specifically will fall in the mid tier category but our success in all sports is not 2nd rate.

No SEC school other than Kentucky comes even close to sharing our Basketball hardware. Not even close. Basketball facilities are incredible.

No SEC school comes even remotely close to our 42 Track and Field NC's and non stop conf. titles with facilities that are rarely found on earth.

We are in the top 3rd in Baseball performance with baseball facilities that are rarely matched in the nation.

Our football team is hit and miss in the SEC but has a great overall tradition of Bowls, Conference titles, and a NC. You would also be very hard pressed to find nicer facilities in the SEC.

Our program has money, facilities, and an overall performance record that is at the top of the SEC.

You might need to step out of the LSU bubble every now and then.

Overall I'd agree Ark. is def. top 6 in the SEC. Facilities wise it is really no contest, as they have the Tysons' and Waltons' cash to spend as they wish. I'd imagine Butch Davis and Tubbs are at the top of the list for the Hogs. Congrats to Ark. fans, I know yall have been waiting for this day for a LONG time.

We are talking about football here buddy. You were the one mentioning other sports. Yall have an awesome track program and were damn good in basketball bc of Richardson. But no a top 6 program in the SEC in football.

DMAC has more than one occasion said he was going to Arkansas since he was born, regardless of the coach

Exactly. As I have always said, when you can go into someone else's back yard and take a player away that has been wanting to play at local school all his life... then you can talk about recruiting.

DMAC going to Arky is hardly a recruiting feat. Neither is LSU scooping up anybody in the state, Biloxi, Mobile or East Texas.

Ark just doesn't produce the talent at a high enough level and competing against regional powerhouses with better facilities/programs like LSU, Texas, OU, etc. won't help...

Are you serious? You think the state of Oklahoma has good football talent? Arkansas and Oklahoma are about even in recruits.

It all has to do with recruiting. Bob Stoops works his tail end off and goes into Texas to get his players.

That would be a good hire for Ole Miss. I've always thought Nutt was a decent coach. Yea, the off field troubles over the past year did him in but he gets his boys to play hard. Hard to say about his recruiting. Did Miles get top ten classes at OSU? Did Saban do that at MSU? He has taken 2-3 star talent and made them very competitive. Put in a good situation and I think Nutt could be successful.

Arkansas came into the SEC as a very weak football program and has steadily improved. I don't know about talent level in Arkansas but I know the state has produced some hellacious coaches.

The Bear, Tubby and Switzer come to my mind and maybe $herrill? Was Nutt a native?

Arkansas has to overcome the smaller football pop within the state. They have good talent comming up the system, and tent to do good recruiting instate, but there just isn't enough talent there to consistantly built a top notch SEC team.

That is where facilities and coaching come in. You need to see the school....and that means have top notch facilities and recruit the surrounding states. Texas ans LA are loaded with talent, and you need to be able to pull some from bama and FLA as well. Thats where Nutt failed.....that and the whole text scandal, assistant coach/QB....

I hope you can find a good replacement for Nutt. Having a stronger arkansas helps the SEC, and if the can recruit well in the BIG 12 state, that make the BIG 12 weaker

Again, we are talking about football here and your football program.

Alabama
Tennessee
LSU
Georgia
Auburn
Florida

all easily outrank you in football.

You had a coach that made you competitive in the SEC, but you just couldn't stand prosperity. 18 wins in the last two years, and he resigns because of all the heat from the fans?!?
