If Alleva shoots for Patterson or another top guy like that I will be pleased and shocked.

It just doesn't fit with our typical coach replacement pattern.

I don't have a problem with going after an unproven commodity. But you don't break the bank on an unproven commodity. Makes it too hard to fix the mistake if it doesn't turn out well.

when has Malzahn been a head coach? I'd kinda like to see how productive his offense is w/o Newton.

One problem is that it's so late in the game that we may not have the luxury of several misses.

I'm not saying that they WILL give him the $4m.....I'm saying they would be prepared to give him that....

at this point it is 1000% crucial you have some stability on the staff so close to NSD.....

His offenses at Tulsa were among the best in college football before he got to Auburn.

i love malzahn, but hes aint getting $4M. more specifically, we dont need to offer him that much. IMO hes a $2.5M/yr guy and you get a bump when you bring in hardware

Yea I know. That's why I am wasting my time on this bs board when I should be working.

This is very late in a bad year to replace your coach. Add that to a possible great signing class and a loaded roster....frick.

This isn't his 1st year at AU. They had the #1 offense in the SEC last year with Chris Todd at QB.

Gus is going to be one hell of HC when and wherever he gets the opportunity. Gus has been successful wherever he's been. Even without Cam Newton. I think we need to lock him down and give him the opportunity. He's will most likely also be calling the plays on offense. With our talent, our offense will be unstoppable for years to come. He's also most likely to keep our defensive coaching staff and Frank Wilson. Personally, I'd like him to give Frank or Cooper the title of Assistant HC. NOT TO MENTION, WE'LL BE TAKING HIS TALENTS AWAY FROM A RIVAL SCHOOL!!!! DOUBLE WIN!!!!!

That would be the homerun hire of the group that's for sure.
