1. It's being said his position as interim head coach is a week to week job interview for the permanent HC position.
This is pretty much how every mid-year interim position is. If Orgeron runs the table or loses only 1 game, he absolutely should be allowed to interview and receive consideration...but that doesn't mean you have to hire him.

His current position as head coach makes it very difficult to retain him once a new coach comes in.
The decision to retain him is the decision of the new head coach. His alone...if you actually hire a Herman or Fisher or any other coach you guys would rate as a home run hire. Top tier head coaches don't let the university dictate who he has to keep as an assistant. And alleged "best coaching jobs in America" don't put that restriction on a new HC. If the new guy wants O, and O wants to stay under his conditions, he stays.
quote:
The new coach may say or change some things that O put in place...
You planning to hire a top tier coach? Then of course he will. Any and everything that Orgeron put in place gets tossed.
quote:
Those that will won't support the new guy because they don't think he should be there.
Not even Herman?
I'm not saying that none of what you're saying makes any sense at all. It only makes sense if you're thinking LSU hires a second or third tier coach.
