Legitimate question and not trolling: Explain why Houston going to Big 12 has bearings on Herman? I've been hearing the same thing, but when you look at the makeup of the conference, it's basically UT, OK, OKST, WV, TT, Baylor. (Yes There are others ... Hell Alabama and Tennessee are members for Women's rowing or something).
Why would Houston going to Big 12 matter when the option is to coax h at an SEC school (in which the only non-factors are usually, MO, Vandy, KY, and SC ... I know ... Even these play competitively). To me, Big 12 is a 3 steps up from C-USA and 1 step down from Pac-12 and ACC. SEC and Big 10 are top.
From personal perspective most (not all) coaches go for the $$$. Would Houston outspend LSU? Or is it that if Houston goes Big12, then we have to pay more $$$ to lure Herman away. Why would Herman want to stay at Houston in Big 12 when he could get to the SEC and match wits against coaches like Saban yearly? (Seriously think he will be next big thing)
Anyone? Seriously, I'm just asking ...

I just don't get the fascination with this guy.
He didn't post anything that wasn't plastered all over pay sites. He isn't some insider but he also wasn't just making stuff up to troll.
Hell, even his Harris Jameis post came out right after a practice report from Shea
The problem with people like him is that no matter how far along things got got, mutual interest, numbers worked out, agreed in principle, etc, until he was signed and in the plane it was never a "done deal".
Making huge changes like this can fall through for any number of reasons, counter offers, cold feet, change of heart, whatever.
So anyone taking that stuff as in the bag just haven't been involved in deals like that before.
And the blowhards that caused the leak weren't doing in on fricking tiger droppings. They were doing it in person to their friends and reporters to show them all how connected and important they are.
That then trickles down to terds like DA that run here and post to get some sort of rep as an insider.
If you guys want somewhat inside info, pay the few bucks a month for a pay site. The difference between those sites and this board are definitely worth it if you want some actual info and discussion.

This makes no sense in the context of his comment. He has information but can't comment for 3 weeks? Knowing DA, in 3 weeks he'll regurgitate the most recent rumors and say that was the information he had 3 weeks ago but couldn't comment on it.
If he's waiting 3 weeks because of Texas's schedule and the Big 12 conference expansion, then he doesn't have any information on Herman and his post was just more drivel.

Yeah, I don't know if he has any info or is just seeing what we're all seeing with the big 12 meeting coming up and Texas having 2 of their tougher games coming up and acting like he has info.

Gotcha. Yeah I'm of the opinion it has everything to do with the later. He doesn't have Herman information until the picture is clearer with Herman for everyone.
He's insinuating he has information but cannot release it for 3 weeks. That is absurd.

Ok, good cause my sources that I talk to in "know" say Herman has 6.6 million on the table. Of course the people telling me got it from someone else, etc., and I can't confirm this complete rumor from any BOS member as they have been super secret. I don't believe the rumor either FWIW.

I think that he knows more than you think he does. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss his information. Time will tell if he has anything valuable.

For one, I've read that he gets $5 mil bonus if they go to the big 12. Also, I'm not sure how the profit sharing in the big 12 works, but you'd have to imagine that would mean more money flowing into Houston.
