say whatever you want about Lane but I firmly believe this is from the heart. I lost my father 4 years ago and not a day goes by that the reality of him not being around to bounce ideas off of doesn't hit me in the gut and the sense of loss only gets more painful as you try to navigate the ups and downs of your life. To you younger dudes on here, appreciate your father's wisdom and advice if it's still available because you will 100% mourn the loss of it when he is gone and that will never go away

Means nothing. He's going to be sad to leave Ole Miss.

For about 15 minutes. His Dad’s not there anymore. To me, that would make it a special place to remember, but not tie my future to. The bottom line is that he made several pointed comments about how his whole team is from somewhere else and I know he would like to be the hometown coach recruiting Louisiana. You can tell he would like the kids to have a tie to the school as home.

Well said. Lost my dad 4 years ago as well.

Who knows what Lane ultimately decides between Oxford and Baton Rouge but I absolutely 100% understand the sentiments when he speaks of missing his dad.
