It’s a damned shame that irresponsible people can mismanage a place to the edge of disaster and yet know that ultimately the rest of the country will have no choice but to bail them out.

Liberal Progressivism has been around for a long time now.
You’d think it would’ve produced something to serve as a shining example to the world.
A country, or a state, or even a city.
But I’ve yet to see that example emerge. Instead, things always end up worse for the majority of people.

Anything that leaves even the remnants of this regime in charge and another generation will be faced dealing with them again down the road.
I don’t want boots on the ground over there but I certainly hope we are quietly and methodically continuing to provide any and all support necessary for the Iranian people to eventually take matters into their own hands.
Long term, I don’t think any true “deal” can be expected to be made (and abided by) with the Islamic Republic government.

I guess my initial reaction is how in the world was a “Dem holdover” assigned to be running the prosecution in the first place?
It’s not as if there had not already been some long running concerns and discussions about “activists” embedded within these various institutions.
Seems there should’ve been more emphasis on vetting at the outset.
