Part of me thinks he still wants to coach at LSU and that we still have the pull of a blue blood but the other half of me is convinced it's been all about NIL commitments. He's said from the start that it wasn't about money for him - "for him". He watched his mentor, Saban, give up the game he loves because of NIL so that was an eye opener for him, showing him that he has to find a way to get more NIL promises in order for him to be successful.
Sure, LSU is LSU and being the man in charge of Tiger Stadium would be amazing, but he's happy at Ole Miss and if it's not about money for him, then it's about the opportunity to equalize Ole Miss, and that's where NIL comes in. If Ole Miss can match LSU's NIL offers, then this is over and he stays at Ole Miss.
