If Lane is still pissed about LSU believing he wasn't ready when he clearly wasn't, then he isn't the right man for the job anyway.
Ole Miss needs Lane to stay more than LSU needs him to come.
I think he's a good coach but he isn't some end all be all guy.

You added the "what we have now" part, but what we've lost is time, resources...so recruiting is a big part. Building staff and credibility with assistant coaches, recruits, etc. You're kidding yourself if you think nothing is lost. Not to mention a general PR hit of a swing and a miss.

None of that pertains to whether Kiffin accepts the job or not. All of that happened regardless of Kiffin.

I guess you didn't read the post....he gets $ and NIL support as well plus recruiting bias, etc. All kinds of reasons.
LSU opportunity is greater every day of the week...I'm just stating what I see happening and some other context clues.
