Strong is in his third year. It appears he has Texas going in the right direction. They are more talented and competitive then they have been

Sorry, this may have been covered in the previous pages but I couldn't read all of the responses. The only person who would say something like this, is someone who has never seen the longhorns play this year they are getting worse not better. You can say how he deserves more time, but he is not improving the im program year over year. You tiger fans tell yourselves whatever you want that helps you sleep better at night, but the rest of us can see the obvious, strong is on his last leg and Herman is texas's number one target whether you like it or not.

McClendon only won more games because he coached more. Miles had a higher winning percentage and won a Natty.

So you are confirming you are wrong.

It does not help Strong in any way, shape or form for Texas officials to whisper the empty promise that their first African-American coach will remain in his position until the end of the season, as though that somehow equates to fair treatment.

And so it begins...

Charlie is a career defensive coach. The Texas defense is an abortion. The only aspect of the team worse is the special teams. Special teams has been a joke all 3 years of his tenure. Charlie is THE special team coach. We had 2 PATs blocked this season against ND and 3 PATs blocked this past Saturday in Stillwater.

The offense looks better, and that is the only area of the team Charlie doesn't touch.

Their defense is terrible and Strong is a defensive guy. It makes them doubt if he can do it.

I'm sort of with you on a coaching change though. Unless they were to get Herman, I'd probably give Strong another year

What does giving Strong another year prove. To me Texas will lose at least 5 games if not 6 games.

That's not improvement. Am I wrong guys?

Does anyone find this surprising? Texas boosters have been undermining Strong from day 1.

I was just about to ask if the boosters will sabotage Strong to accelerate the process.

The truth is, this has nothing to do with Strong or UT's ethics or lack thereof. This is just LSU fans trying to hold on to a glimmer of hope that Herman might still come to LSU.

Yeahhhh.... except that Les was LSU's winnigest coach and he went 9-3 last year. Charlie has posted 2 losing seasons at Texas and is looking bad again this year. That's apples and oranges. One guy is a HOF coach whose last season was a winning record, who got fired for a razor's edge loss, the other is a doofus with a losing all-time record at the school, who can't even coach the coin flip correctly, who is losing bigly to bad teams.

It's after, not for. He wasn't canned for that loss. That is disingenuous.

Keep trying to convince yourself of that.

"Maybe just maybe if we say enough, Texas won't fire Strong and that way we can still get Herman" -- every LSU fan
