They are so stuck in the past and need to get over themselves. It is ridiculous how arrogant they are about Michigan. The scene has changed a lot in the last 15 years. With that attitude they may be heading for a derailment like Nebraska ran into after firing Solich when he finished his final year there at 9-3. It's time for Michigan to have a losing season.

As you can see in my earlier post I like Les Miles and still do. We don't really know and may never know what went down with the Miles to Michigan garbage. All I know I was disappointed and the reporters are trying to sell newspapers. BTW, I hate Mitch Albom. If my memory serves me well most of you were pissing on Miles when you thought he was leaving. So that make Michigan not any more arrogant than you are here at LSU.

LSU is an awesome program and something to be proud of as is Michigan. Yes we have had some down years thanks to Carr. But we have had the longest streak for winning seasons in a row. They pack over 110,000 people in for every game. Approved 280 million in stadium renovation and a 28 million practice facility. Michigan is not living in the past but looking toward the future. I just hope they get the right coach for the future.

That story is ridiculous! Are you kidding me? What a friggin sore loser that douche sounds like!

No one who has ever heard Miles talk about Mich. can honestly say he isn't a "Mich. Man" with integrity etc., etc.

This is the real world, big boy, LSU must be a pretty special place in order to keep Miles here. Money is money, but at that pay level, I believe it makes way less of a difference than you think.

LSU is the shite, and this reporter guy is a moron.

Michigan is a great job, with great resources, and deserves to have a great coach there. Out of all the teams outside the south I would like to see be successful, its Michigan. I just hope that after seeing first hand how the alumni, fan, donor, athletics dept., at Alabama is, that this doesn't happen there. Not everyone mind you, but most of the Bama fans I know think way to high of themselves. I even had some of them tell me that we don't deserve to get into the MNC and that they will be rooting for Ohio State. Thats how bad it has gotten with them.

The funny, and deluded, part of the whole article is when they start pissing and moaning about how it was all about money and that it was never about money with Bo, Gary Moeller, or Carr.

If nothing else, this shows the arrogance of the Michigan fanbase.

which is why I said repeatedly that I didnt think UM would pay:
$1.25mm for the buyout
$1+mm to get rid of the 2008 contracts for carr's assts
$3.0mm for 5 years for Miles

their arrogance would have them saying WHY do we have to pay all this money for a coach? we are Michigan

and dont lose sight of the fact that they are pissed they arent getting him AFTER he won the SEC CG. It wasnt quite such a big deal to get Miles before he won the SECCG

I couldn't get past the first few paragraphs without being totally disgusted.

quote:

Miles showed what he is all about by taking the bigger money to stay in Baton Rouge.

quote:

The guy and his kinship to Ann Arbor was a smokescreen for a bigger payday from day one.

quote:

If he really wanted the Michigan job or intended to stay at LSU, why didn't he have the class and character to be up front from day one? Why? Because most college coaches are prostitutes for the bigger payday. Most are insecure men who use players and schools for money and fame.

I'm sure this guy thinks he is a "true" Michigan fan and that he has more respect for the Wolverines than Miles. Replace Michigan with Alabama and this could have been written last year by a gump when they were turned down by a few candidates.

isnt it weird how the cultures are different in the big 10 than the SEC. Mich. fans are rooting like hell for LSU to whoop ohio state, but most LSU fans would root for the SEC team in a game like this.

Supah,

Please remember the buyout of 1.25 equates to 2 million. It's genius. Michigan couldn't pay LSU the buyout fee directly.

Since it is written that Les would have to pay LSU personally, then his agent would ask for an extra $2,000,000 from Michigan. Why? Because whatever Big Blue would compensate LES is a taxable event.

He would need to get $2 million to cover the taxes and the buyout fee PLUS his annual salary. We aren't even talking about the state taxes. Do you really think they would pay Les $2 million PLUS whatever the negotiated first year salary was. We are talking about $5 million. Not likely.

Please do not confuse this writer with Michigan alum and fans. The bitterness and asinine comments in that article were ridiculous and I've yet to meet another fan who agrees with him. Yes we're bummed Miles won't be coaching Michigan, but who really thought he'd give up the NC game? You'd have to be crazy! Or be Mitch Albom

Any other Big 10 team and we'd be rooting for them. Michigan fans will never root for OSU and visa versa. C'mon, you LSU fans would have a damn hard time rooting for Bama.

This is the "who is LSU's rival" question but coming at it from a different angle.

I figured it was a good analogy since I don't see any other team getting slammed on these boards as often as Bama.

Bama gets slammed by everybody in the SEC. They're like your crazy uncle that you are embarrassed to claim. Just because they're crazy doesn't mean you can forget they are family.

Don't worry about me thinking all Michigan fans think like this writer. You have to understand that there are idiots that wear every school's colors. We have ours too.

I usually root Big 10 but most of us agree we hate the Vest. Look at what happen to us Saturday, is it a coincidence that Herbstreit is from Ohio State. They all suck... Miles is a Michigan grad so I say.
