its hard to take anyone seriously that actually thinks we deserved one over the other.
we deserved both equally. its just plain stupid to think otherwise. oh...thats right...Miles was the coach in '07 so we have to shite all over that NC.

Deserved to be there is worthy of discussion, but deserved to win? We did win that title so I'm not sure how we deserved the win any less than in 03. Both teams accomplished their goal and won.

Because he's leaving the door open. If Michigan offers, Miles will listen. That presser was a bunch of nonsense other than a weak attempt to eliminate distractions for his team as they prepare for the Bowl. He left the door open...no doubt about it.

I don't think so.
As I recall, in both cases, a lot had to fall into place for LSU to play for the NC. And it all did fall into place. And once LSU got the opportunity, they made the most of it. Neither Oklahoma nor Ohio State just rolled over.
Luck? Sure. But every team that wins a NC needs an element of that.

There are varying degrees of luck.
1 loss teams commonly play for titles. 2 loss teams dont.

And it so happens that in 2007, as I recall, everybody had two losses except for Ohio State. Which means that SOMEBODY had to play them for the title. The powers that be deemed a two loss SEC champion the best representative to do so.
Again, a lot had to fall into place. I think we all remember that final weekend.
I think my point is that every individual season is different. So comparing them is pretty pointless.

How many teams have won it with 2 losses?
The only reason we needed "luck" in 2003 was that the BCS was screwed up. Our loss was in our 6th game to a team that went 6-2 in the SEC.
We needed luck in 2007 because we lost two of our last 6 regular season games to teams with a combined 7-9 SEC record.
You can compare the seasons if you want, but it is objectively not a good comparison for the 07 season.

Has Les Miles given his recommendation for the next Michigan head coach? He did a great job helping them find Brady Hoke for the last hire.

I don't compare seasons against each other. I judge them on their own individual merits, because they're all different.
