It sucks but it's also the reality of the new CFB calendar. James Franklin was fired and already has another job with two weeks left in the season.
I couldn’t possibly disagree with your apples to oranges comparison any more.
Lane Kiffin has not been fired, is not at risk of being fired, and frankly, would probably never be fired from OM. He’s actively coaching a team in the middle of a national title run. A historically good season for his school.
James Franklin because had been fired because he sucks at his job and filled a seat vacated by another coach who sucked at his job.
Lane could kill all of this nonsense with a few words at any number of the press conferences and appearances that his ego drives him to attend, but he doesn’t because he enjoys the spotlight.
He’s a fantastic football coach, but he’s a piece of shite. I don’t think LSU would miss anything by missing on him.

I agree with Wetzel here. I think Kiffin would always have a nagging feeling about taking another job and not coaching this team in the playoffs. He may do it anyway, but any decent man would be bothered by that.

Putting Ole Miss as the ones creating a distraction and trying to get a sitting coach with a team on a playoff run to leave his team.
Sumrall wants Ole Miss more than Ole Miss wants Sumrall. We’re not asking him to do anything right now.

What a hatchet job.
He won't regret it if he builds a dynasty that wins multiple NCs.

So he’s a massive POS for wanting to leave Tulane during a playoff push, right?

Ole Miss isn’t winning the national title.

I’m sure he’d be interested in leaving afterwards.

And you believe Ole Miss would wait that long?

Okay. Well I'll take what Kiffin said as true. You know, he is involved in this process, and not you, right?
If there is an ultimatum, do you really think Kiffin would have said there was on live television. I'm not saying there is or isn't, but people really need to take comments made by coaches in situations like this with a grain of salt.

Certainly not without causing everyone to wonder if Al Davis was right all along.
Aside from drafting the QB that Lane begged him not to that tanked the whole thing, obviously

I don’t know. Your argument is stupid. Tulane’s coach taking a job in the SEC is different than Ole Miss’ coach taking a job at LSU. You really can’t compare those situations, but go off.

My argument isn’t stupid. You getting so defensive about it proves that.
You can be butthurt about what Kiffin is doing, or not doing, all you want. Fact of the matter is, when the shoe is on the other foot you’re just going to brush it off as “totally different” and how things work now.

Maybe coaches need be restricted from outside contact similar to players?
