re: Hitting out of a divot
Posted by lsufball19 on 4/18/26 at 11:05 pm to Eye dentist
What makes no sense is you get free relief from a pitch mark in the fairway but not a divot
Regardless, PGA tournaments have preferred lies in play from the fairway at times. Why are people still so cavalier about moving a ball out of a divot?

The second tweet should have been the thread topic. Too damn funny. I hope it was simply self deprecating humor but probably not. The replies are hilarious

We let him walk and he really wasn’t that good at Bama last year.
That’s being kind. He hit .219 last year, actually significantly worse than his last year at LSU. He finally turned things around this year in his 4th year of college baseball. He was simply a bad hitter his first 3 years
re: Lebron against Rodman in primes, who ya got?

I hate Lebron James but the takes in this thread are some of the dumbest shite I’ve ever read

Isn’t that loser Yeskie the pitching coach?
Yeskie has quite a few skins on the wall. Weird to call him a "loser" :dunno:

Explains why your team cannot hit.
Isn't your head coach also your hitting coach? How did y'all manage to have the worst hitting team in the SEC last year with the loaded roster you had?
Maybe it's a little deeper than what you think is the reason LSU is struggling this year.

We let Brady Neal walk. He's only allowed 4 passed balls all year and is hitting .370 with 7 homers
Yeah, they moved him to left field at Alabama. He hasn't played catcher in awhile

didn’t he and Milazzo come in in the same year
No. Milazzo was in the same class with Crews and Morgan

The roster limits now being 34, in my opinion, is a major factor in all of this.
roster limits were....35 (27 scholarship players) before COVID. And we only had 11.7 scholarships. Now we have 34 scholarship players and 34 scholarships. No, roster limits are not the problem
re: Is it the bats?

They just hit 15 HRs in Fayetteville this weekend including an SEC record 9 today. They now have 113 in 41 games with Marucci bats. They may break our record this year.

I’ve heard contradictory statements about this
Yeah on here from posters reading into some vague comments Jay made preseason who are trying to rationalize why we suck. We didn’t sign top 3 recruiting and portal classes without spending a lot of money

It is obvious that is not the case.
Players not performing is not mutually exclusive with being under-funded. We fund our baseball program as much as anyone. We just missed in the portal this year, period

Idk why people keep bringing up Larson in these discussions. He’s not an every day player at Texas either and also isn’t playing outfield there. Even with our struggles this year, he wouldn’t be in our starting lineup. Costello has also hit like .100 in conference play.

They also play in the smallest park in the country
no they don't
They have a short porch in right. They have the deepest left field in the conference at 350, 365/370 in the power alleys (same as LSU), and 404 to center. That's not even close to the smallest park in the conference, much less the country. They have 104 home runs in 40 games (2 tonight and they're still playing), 21 more than any other team in the nation. but yeah lets talk about their field in a discussion about fricking baseball bats being why we suck this year.

Jay still has a chance to separate himself from Orgeron but, as of now, there’s only a few pounds and a tan that separate them.
This is one of the worst takes I've ever seen on this board. Go to bed

Go watch BATBROS videos on YouTube...They poo poo Marucci bats all the time compared to the other companies like Louisville slugger and Easton
go watch UGA hit baseballs. they lead the country in home runs (by a lot) and also use Marucci bats.
