It’s actually been the opposite of that. They’ve just taken a bath recently when it’s come to hot button popular issues like NIL and transfer restrictions. General eligibility lawsuits, they haven’t lost many of those

Trinidad Chambliss vs. NCAA has officially been filed in Lafayette County Chancery Court.
Lafayette County, MS doesn’t have personal jurisdiction over the NCAA and shouldn’t have subject matter jurisdiction over the case either as the alleged issues in controversy occurred in Michigan. The NCAA is going to get this moved to federal court where literally every other case like this has been heard. Mars is likely banking on a motion to dismiss being filed, a favorable MS judge granting an injunction and denying the motion to dismiss, and then slow playing the appeal into next season.

based on their system, however they come up with these, our class last year had more total points
Colorado had 78.14 when Hunter/Sanders transferred in 2023. USCw had 96.08 in 2022 and Ole Miss 84.99 the same year.

Enough people to pay attention to a lot of sports before pole vaulting
See here’s your problem. You think you’re arguing track and field is more popular overseas. No one is arguing against that. But there is a wide chasm from that and saying a fricking pole vaulter is more well known worldwide than any sports star in America. That’s just laughably stupid

Never claimed to be “worldly.” But maybe don’t say stupid shite like “says the guy who’s never been outside the US” as if you’re so cultured you fricking chode
No a pole vaulter is not more popular worldwide than the biggest sports stars in this country. He’s just not. Yes T&F is more popular in Europe than it is in the US. However those two things aren’t mutually exclusive. Get over it.

Do you really think Mondo is the most recognized LSU athlete worldwide? Pole vaulting isn’t that popular dude. Maybe he’s a celebrity in Sweden but the vast majority of people who even follow sports have no idea who he is. Guys like Justin Jefferson are far more recognized worldwide. He’s the unquestioned best in the world at a niche Olympic sport. People care about him once every 4 years worldwide and pole vaulting is way down the list of Olympic sports the world follows or cares about

You lost like fifteen starters, dork.
Not to the portal. On offense, the only starters lost were either to the draft/no more eligibility or were OL who were processed. Lost Nussmeier, Aaron Anderson, Chris Hilton, Barion Brown, and Zavion Thomas to the former and 3 OL to the latter. That’s 8. We also lost Haulcy, Pyburn, Dalane and Perkins to the draft. That’s 12. I guess if you want to add some rotational players and MVB, you can get to 15.

Blakeney's invovlement appears to be regarding fixing games in China, not college basketball games here. The next paragraph reads

The scheme, according to the 70-page indictment, began around September 2022 and initially focused on fixing Chinese Basketball Association games, where Blakeney was a leading scorer. Blakeney allegedly manipulated his own performance and recruited other players from his team to join.
who knows. whatever the case, something has to be done regarding gambling in sports. it's become a pretty damn big problem and that's just what has come out publicly

which seems harder at the college level than the high school level. Any idiot can notice that a man amongst boys stands out in high school.
I think the latter makes high school much harder to scout. Yes, it's easy to see who is a D1 prospect, but it's not easy to scout how they'll perform against players who are also elite football players. In college, not only can you evaluate players based on what they've done against elite players, you also will have much better film availability than at the high school and not nearly as much of a need to scout these guys in person. And with the advent of having a team of analysts on every staff, it makes that job a lot more manageable than it used to be.
But to answer your question, no there will never be a reliable ranking. If there were, there would never be any busts at any level of football and the need for scouts would be gone.

It isn’t just Ole Miss by the way. They are just one example. Tennessee did the same thing
everything I've seen has Tennessee's breakdown as:
75% football
15% MBB
5% WBB
5% to everything else
where are you getting the numbers for Ole Miss and Tennessee?
And I really don't see how anyone could say baseball is "getting screwed" just because they're good. Regardless of whether they're good, this is about revenue, not valuing winning. Baseball produces a fraction of the revenue of football, mens bb, and womens bb, so they're going to get a much much smaller fraction of the revenue sharing. Our program more thgan makes up with it with the NIL we're able to pay, so maybe relax

I think he was involved in point shaving playing games in China (he's been playing in China since 2019). He's not the only player/person involved. It's a gambling ring. There's 25 people charged. Because the article reads that games were fixed in China and in college basketball doesn't mean because Blakeney was charged with fixing games in college and in China. It means among all the people charged, games at both levels are alleged to have been fixed.
