BamaScoop, I always enjoy your posts and you sir are one cool Bama fan and contrary to popular belief among some Tiger Ranters, I have quite a number of friends that are great Bama fans and we always get along just fine. I do believe that they are trying to coax Meyer to come to the Golden Dome. I dont know if they will try Saban, I believe that the Irish know that at this point in time there is no way Saban will leave to ND. Maybe some one is trying to convince Meyer that after Saban schooled him and his team so bad on Saturday , that now is the time to jump ship. Losing Tebow, losing Cooper, losing 8 starters on defense and possibly losing Charlie Strong that now may be as good as ever if his dream job is Notre Dame. Geaux Bama and Geaux Tigers.

Hey Montana Tiger what part of Montana. Not trying to hijack the thread, just saw some of your posts before and wondered what part of Montana you are from? Obviously as my name states, I now live in Windham after moving from Baton rouge about a year and a half ago.

I agree that if Meyer is considering leaving Florida, that his stock is as high as it will ever get right now. He is the perfect age to take over a program like Notre Dame and he would win.

Saban once told his team at LSU that there's only one college job he would leave for. Notre Dame.

I agree with you Scoop, Meyer is a good coach and there is no doubt that he could bring ND back to being a winner.

No surprise. But I think the ND folks have made contact with both Meyer and Saban...and have kept it from the media. I can't imagine Saban's wife being content in TTown but he isn't going anywhere for the time being. Meyer going to South Bend wouldn't surprise me at all.

What do y'all think?

I would have to say - YES. They must go after someone of high profile - lay down the academic standards - and offer a huge sum of money - $7 mil+. With that said - I think the egos (which is not a bad thing) of both of those coaches will give them pause to consider it. Saban - Wins NC at LSU, Bama and ND = Legend. Meyer - NC's at Florida and ND = Legend. I think both think about that sort of thing...but I would still be surprised to see either leave.

I laughed it off, but was told that Saban was spotted in Chicago during Bama's bye week, and was asked what was he doing in town.

He supposedly replied, "Recruiting."

Is there anyone on Bama's radar from that area?

Isn't that where we met with Rich Rod?

Just saying. It's never over until the news conference is held.

Notre Dame is not going to put all of their eggs in one basket.

I expect to see them wait until the season plays out. Kelly really wants the job, but I'm certain ND would wait and prefer to take a coach with a better resume, if available.

Money is no object.

They would be stupid not to at least try going after Meyer. He's basically starting over again at UF now that Mullen, probably Strong, Tebow, Spikes and Dunlap are gone.

If money isn't an object for ND, they need to make it happen.

The Saban talk all originates on Tigerdroppings by wishful Rantards.

Sexton as an agent will field all offers if they are higher than what he gets now, its his job as a agent to get the best for his clients.

Him and every other coach. It doesn't mean he's going anywhere. Alabama will match whatever ND offers anyway. Otherwise they're back to square one.

URBAN MEYER IS NOT LEAVING FLORIDA, WHAT DON'T PEOPLE UNDERSTAND ABOUT THIS

PROOF: HE IS NOT GOING TO LEAVE TIMMY STRANDED IN HIS LAST GAME EVER AT THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA

For Meyer to take the ND job he would have to leave right now, or in the coming weeks.

Now if it gets around January 1st and Notre Dame still hasn't hired a football coach, then speculate

But as for now Meyer would not leave Timmy right before Timmy's last game at UF

Neither would leave until after their bowl game. I seriously doubt either leaves.

I would be shocked if Saban left...less so if Urban left.

Stretching this out.....I have a feeling they put out "feelers" and were turned down. As someone else stated, it then has turned toward "settling" for someon else.

ESPN seems to think it is Kelly. Would be great for him.
