This is a smoke screen, pure and simple.

Nutt needs to give another stirring rendition of the "Pine box" speech that Tubberville gave OM before he bolted.

He's not talking to the media, which means he's not denying it, and Khayat and Pete Boone won't discuss their meeting with Nutt this morning.

Not going to happen.....does not fit the Sexton time frame for switching schools.

I always heard the SEC was going to block Tubberville from jumping to another SECW school. I suppose the fact he got clipped at Ark means he is not job hoping in their eyes, but this would not look good.

quote:

It's over, but that's no cause for celebration

A lot of people are, no doubt, happy with the news that came out of Auburn today. Tommy Tuberville’s 10th season as Auburn’s head football coach was his last.

As I’ve written, you could make a case that was the best thing. But before you celebrate too much, you might want to think.

You might want to think about the coaches’ children, many of whom have known no other home than Auburn, who have been taunted at school and came home crying, asking if daddy was going to lose his job. And now their fears have been confirmed.

You might want to think about the coaches’ wives who suddenly don’t know what the future holds.

You might want to think about assistant coaches who suddenly are unemployed and don’t know where they’ll be working.

You might want to think about the support people, who don’t make a lot of money and also could lose their jobs.

You might want to think about Auburn football players, teen-agers or not much more than teen-agers, whose lives have been turned upside down because the adults who are closer to them than anyone outside of their families are leaving.

Losing your job is part of the business if you’re a coach. That doesn’t make it easy. And it’s not worthy of a celebration.

Wow. What a class act.

I brought this up on the SEC Rant yesterday and was told no way.

"Nutt is godlike (scary eh) at Ole Miss."
