The good thing is Sherm will leave Phil alone the hire the coaches he needs. Sherm is from the offensive side of the ball.

How much of a pickme up will he be for recruiting in the area. I would imagine he's kept most of his ties to the area.

Big time, the guys from Marshall, Tx. His brother was coaching (Jerry), and that guy knows everyone in Tx and La. Remember it hasn't been that long that Phil was at SMU. He is the one thing that A&M needs. Now Sherm has to start looking on the "O" side of the ball. Francis left them in bad shape on both sides.
