Gumps have no in state professional programs to distract from CFB and they suck at every other major sport. Obsessing on the one good thing to come out of your state is to be expected. Its just too much fun to pick at you because you're thin skinned and take yourselves WAY too seriously.

List to total MNCs in all sports. Congrats on being tied with Kentucky.

NCAA/AIAW Titles School
42 Arkansas
42 LSU
28 Florida
27 Georgia
17 Tennessee
14 Auburn
12 Texas A&M
10 Alabama
10 Kentucky
3 South Carolina
2 Missouri
1 Vanderbilt
2 Ole Miss
0 Mississippi State

You sure you know what that "M" stands for in MNC?

So Alabama only gets credit for 2 football national titles?

Alabama's non football national titles:

5 Gymnastics
1 Softball
1 Men's Golf
1 Women's Golf

Let me guess, Women's Track and Field counts but these don't.

Mad? I think its fricking hilarious.

No different than most coaches in America. See Les Miles, Charlie Strong, Art Briles, etc. All coaches who are worth anything have their names thrown around at jobs and get raises out of it.

You are right to a degree. I don't know of any coach, already making 4-5 million, who is going to get a 50% increase for not taking a job he wasn't going to take in the first place.

some questionable coaching calls

Questionable? No, no, no---those were blunders of a major proportion like I haven't seen in a game of that importance in maybe forever.

Not kicking a FG to put you up by ten from the Auburn 13 with fives minutes to go? Come on, that's football 101. Saban has more football know how in his little finger than I have in my whole body, but that's arrogance to the stupid level.

You can argue all day long about not attempting a FG but you forget Cade's frickin psyche at that point was shot and he likely would've missed it so I am not mad at that decision.

It's taking the game out of your Sr QB's hands to attempt a 57 yd FG that shocked me but I think he figured Bama would lose in an OT setting with that type of offense in a shortened field

That's because there is no current coaches that have the resume of Saban.

How about Sumlin? He's gotten a raise TWICE in under a year.

First from $2.4MM to $3.1MM last February. Now he has gone from $3.1MM to $5MM. He got a 30% raise and followed it up with a 60% raise.

This last raise was about him staying at A&M after his name is being thrown around for NFL and other college jobs. Not sure why he would deserve a 60% raise after going 8-4 (4-4 in conference) and finishing 4th in the SEC West with the reigning Heisman winner.

right. Having a defense recruited by sleepy sherm had absolutely nothing to do with anything

If you really think he's likely to miss a 30 yarder then that's laughable. I don't care what he did before. You have to think your kicker that you believed in all season can make a 30 yarder. Y'all are being dumb if you give saban a pass for that one. Bottom line is he cost y'all the iron bowl and a birth in the BCS title game. Hey let's give him a huge raise. Hilarious.

I stated facts. If Sleepy Sherm gets credit for the defense, then why not the players on offense?

It was little more than an extra point and it was without a doubt the right call at that time and position on the field. Let the kid he put in to try the 57 yard FG kick it or are you saying Alabama only has one kicker capable of kicking a FG from the 13? I was stunned by the decision at that stage of the game. I don't hate Saban or Alabama, but that was a terrible game decision and I bet one not made by another coach in the country whose team finishes in the top 10 this year. Arrogance is all I can think because we know Saban is a great coach.

You mean, rather than putting it in the hands of a freshman kicker who attempted two for the year with a long made of 20 yards? Yeah, that's weird too.

You don't know the experience he had though in other games with Cade and as soon as he missed one we all knew it as Bama fans...he would miss the subsequent ones

He was a wonderful player for a Bama not knocking the kid but he was remarkably better this yr only because he hadn't been in any high pressure situations like the way he was in the AU game and at the first thought of pressure the poor kid crumbled like a deck of cards

That is the reality of the situation

The worse frick up in my mind was the blocking on that 4th down play, with Bama's stable of RB's and OL there shouldn't have been a TFL by a TF no less

The whole situation in that instance though had a lot more to do with the players execution that the HC's playcall

I'll say it again, at the down and distance given the situation at the time. I agree with his call, he was trying to win a game, it was a call to win not being safe because even @ 10 pts he knew against that AU team no lead was safe.

Quit pretending to know football, insider info and reason. It eludes you and chick, if you are not one in the same. If not, get your nose out of his arse.

I agree, I was furious when I heard (radio)they were going for it (wasn't able to watch the game due to my daughter having another surgery- in hindsight I'm glad I wasn't able to watch the game) instead of kicking then field goal. I told my wife that was going to cost us the game.

It reminded me of 2011 GOTC vs LSU

The marquise maze throw that Reid picked off. It was cutesy gadget play BS that saban seldom allows. They were in the redzone! Even if you get a fg out of that possession, you go up 9-3 at that point I believe. A TD makes it 13-3 and that's ball game.
