Will be very disappointed if our leadership doesnt see the once in a lifetime chance here to remove probably our biggest geopolitical thorn outside of China and Russia
We also werent ready. You need the missile defense capabilities of a carrier group before you attack someone like Iran

Last week was just about probing them. This week? The F35s/F22s are going to eat and we will have our protection in place
If I were them id be on the first flight out to Moscow or Doha cause they only got about 3 more days left of internet suppression
Also a hardcore bandwagoner who will abandon all baseball discussion on this board once again after the Braves lose their first series
Probably not since he wasn't on the 2017 team. Wow. That was an easy answer to a stupid question

Doesn’t the CBA say there is no limit to how long it can be deferred?
yes. Deferred money. The Padres werent offering deffered money

thought lowering the AAV was the whole point
its how you do it. The Dodgers were able to offered deferred money because the showed to baseball that they had the present day value if the contract covered and wouldnt have any financial issues funding that amount into an escrow account every year

What the Padres were rumored to have done was not that but literally offer him a contract that would have Judge on the actual team until he was in his mid 40s because they weren't convinced they could reasonably show they could cover the present day value of the contract

Manfred blocked other teams from running the same deferred compensation scam.
like?

The rumored Padres block wasn't over deferred money which is absolutely protected by the CBA

It was because they were arbitrarily lengthening the agreement to lower the AAV

They need to let go of that shite
everyone knows the history of baseball ownership and when it comes to labor relations has been one of good faith and fairness

Aren’t the Dodgers the only team allowed to keep all of their tv money
do you have a link for that? My understanding was the Dodgers still shared 49% of their local deal

Now in 2056 the Dodgers will be fricked
its wild that people still dont get how deferred money works

and it will be amazing if MLB players even make hockey salaries after that and 10K people show up to a game.

you really have a lot of opinions

1. holy frick you of all people making that point is just amazing. your continued general lack of self awareness is honestly insane. like wow

2. how is THAT any kind of spin? if anything its a negative tone, acknowleding the dodgers lost the negotiation and overpaid. again, your inability to competently interact with other people is remarkable

the Astros are no longer the most hated team in baseball
if he does well he becomes a FA again at age 30 and someone will wrap him up until his late 30s

fine with overpaying now to avoid that but if this goes south gonna be a tough 4 years
idk. im a big believer in higher AAV, fewer guranteed years. waiting to see what opt outs are involved but only being on the hook until hes 32 is a big plus imo
dodgers were desperate for an outfielder and kinda got put in a bidding war. glad its only for four years
i am swimming in the majestic waters that is giants internet right now

I want that lockout. I'm done with this fricking sport. Absolutely disgusting for the sport. Yet our FO signed two 4th starters and are like "what? You want more? We got two hurt pitchers and a theatre!" Sick to my fricking stomach.
