did you feel that way when you picked up Mizzou on the schedule last year, or did it kick in when you lost to aTm?

Two issues with this:

1) so he's going to stay an extra week or two for $200K when he has "$100M" waiting on him at texas? (no one with a brain thinks that number is real)

The Texas $ is going to be the same whether or not he collects an extra $200K (?) for an extra week or two of work--and keeps his commitment to the seniors, gratitude for winning 3 NCG (even if 1 or 2 are vacated thx to Bamans Fluker/Barron/Davis/Phillips).

quote:

2) typical coach contracts pay a coach for the team reaching a bcs bowl game. the coach gets the bonus for the bcs bowl game invitation, not coaching it it. he did his job in terms of the bowl revenue generated whether he coaches in the game or not.

Saban is not a "typical coach." Your response seems to be you do not know what his contract calls for, but you are assuming he is not being paid a dollar for those 2 weeks of work; if he left last week, his last pay check would be the same.

No one here knows what Saban will do; only Saban and Texas' administrators know the score. It seems odd that the "he stayin'" crowd cannot understand why so many people who have heard him lie the same lies so many times is not convinced this time he means it. He has not earned the benefit of any doubt. Forgive reasonable people for saying "we'll believe it when we see it." It does not mean they are ignorant as many are suggesting. It means hard-earned scepticism prevails, that's all. If that suspended belief makes you uncomfortable, don't read the posts. Your anxious protestations are not going to persuade anyone--Saban's action will.

It has zero significance in my life if he stays over at Bama or leaves. Couldn't care less other than it would make for good message board fodder. My "anxious protestations" are toward those who are grasping at straws and making large assumptions about him. He's been gone for 9 years now. It's time we move on and stop assuming that just because he left LSU means he's going to leave Bama.

We hear it every year about him going some place. Most of us didn't think he'd stay at Bama longer than 4 years. He's been there 7 now. He's been there longer than anywhere else and he's at a different stage of his career than when he was at LSU or even the dolphins. It's all fun to speculate as an attempt to troll the gumps, but some of you are making yourselves look desperate with some of your posts.

I'm not going be surprised either way.

Saban stays and it's not about the money

or

Saban leaves because well...its Saban

Well, the old Saban, the one who used LSU as a stepping stone and all his other stops as a HC would leave. But, the new Saban, HC of The University of Alabama will not leave due to his new found sense of community. the tornadoes that ravaged Tuscaloosa had a profound affect on him and his wife and Tuscaloosa is now "Home" to them in a very meaninful way.

He has everything a man of kind can want at his fingertips in TTown. He has been assured by the Administration at Bama that he will always be paid what he's worth in the market. I've heard there is provision that Bama will match any legitimate written offer and he will have at his disposal all the resources for his staff he wants or needs.

In short, Bama will not let money be an issue and he's finally found his "Home" in Tuscaloosa. Sorry dreamy eyed LSU fans he's staying. But continue to promote the negative propaganda about him and how he left LSU for bigger and better, in the end his teams, at Bama, will be kicking LSU arse and your lonely feeling of being hung up wet by him will still haunt you. But hey, you were able to get some cheap shots in on him along the way.

In the end, LSU beat the only relevant team in the SEC this year (Auburn) by 14. Deal with it.

Bama should return to relevance in a few years though when they find a QB that will replace
AJ McJesus. Just be patient...

His wants to live in a shithole?

There is a reason those of 'kind' don't flock to Ttown by choice - if employment is not there they get the fack out.

Nick and Terry and kids can go shop at Central Market in TTown? Costco? Whole Foods? Is there a Nobu, Ruth Chris, Fleming's, Perry's, Carillon, Uchi, Kenichi,etc..Lake Austin & Travis > Lake Martin aesthetically..but not for fishing. Lake Burton a different type lake..when full of water.

Yes, I know TTown has some solid fare for a college town, with some swank joints..but Austin she aint!

My General Response is:

Alabama competing against Texas wealth (See General Response):

Again, see General Response.

And Austin is some shithole university town along the interstate that . . . . . wait! :

One last time: see General Response

Good luck with your analysis.

Great "response" chuckles. I will say that it is at least as informed as the others in here. Pay close attention to the timeline, it is updated to suit your current mood. Too cool huh?

Yes, Costco and Nobu is what Nick looks for in a coaching job.
