Freeman - good young solid coach but overrated. Horrible from an optics standpoint. good player's coach. players will run through the wall for him. not sold on his gameday ability though. can grow as a coach. wouldn't hate it but I'm not excited either especially after BK

Drink - horrible decision. gets beatdown by anyone with a pulse. product of weak scheduling is usually when his teams do well.

these names sound like smokescreens to me. absolutely no way LSU is considering either of these guys.

I truly don’t understand the blind hatred behind Drink. He has a goofy appearance, but the results speak for themselves. Obviously far worse coaches have won big at LSU prior.

I’m really surprised Hartline’s name isn’t mentioned more. I would prefer Hartline over the majority of guys I’ve seen listed.

Not a huge Drink fan but his season derailed with his Starting QB being lost for the year and having to use a true freshman.

I don't know why LSU seems averse to interviewing P5 coordinators.

Lol Shea is not a good sauce. This is like fehoko acting like he knows who it's going to be.

LSU has a better chance of getting Kiffin than they do Freeman.

You’re probably right… the melt for Drink would absolutely be irrational.

But nonetheless there would be a melt.

This strategy to me suggests they want someone that can come in and win now. You just had what you thought was the best options (on paper) come in and fail. Now you have to pay a shitload of money you let him go. You don't do that for an up and coming coach and take that risk. They want to at least be in the playoff every year. Not saying they don't have other guys on their list; these are obviously their Top 3. They will throw what they can at Kiffin and if he says no, they will move on down and save money as they do.

If this is your list, we have real problems.

The real question is what happens if Kiffin stays, Drink goes to UF/Penn State and Freeman stays at ND. Where do we turn then?

Just hire Brian Kelly back? Then whatever you pay him would go towards paying him his own buyout back!

Drink would be such a let down hire. And why is Marcus Freeman such a great get and why would he leave ND to come to LSU just following Kelly?

O is already lobbying for a DL job with Lane at either Florida or LSU.

disagree with this as well

That national media would say this was a great hire and an huge coup. They would see young, motivated, players coach, man of color...they ain't going to say that is a bad look even if it was lol

fans of other SEC teams might try to justify it in their minds that its a bad higher, but they would do that no matter who we hire

I do think of the choices listed, Kiffin would strike the most fear in other fan bases whether they admit that or not

Drink hire, our fanbase and other fanbases would absolutely shite on us
