Caleb Williams will transfer to LSU to be with Riley if he gets the job.

I feel bad for people getting their hopes up it’s Riley. He’s not coming. Mark my words
Scott can call all he wants. Prepare for someone else

I feel the same way… but who could this mystery candidate be… that’s not being thrown out there by anyone right now?

Easily proven? Then go ahead, prove it. nothing you ever say is accurate, and before you talk about all your sources and who you know and heard it from, don’t bother, I already know who you are.

I heard Rick Neuheisel on SiriusXM this morning. Rick said he knows Scott and people that know Scott very well.
He said the best way to describe Scott and his searches are, “The people that say they know don’t, and the people that say they don’t do”.

Are people that lazy that they must abbreviate names?

Said it before I'll say it again: I think it's Bob Stoops. Discussions with OU people could make people think it's Riley when it's not.
Stoops wants to coach again. He's 61 so this is really getting to be the last chance he gets.
He is a big name. He was highly regarded.
Could be announced at any point to keep the recruiting class together.
Probably wouldn't break the bank.
He's not risk free. His recruiting fell off a bit toward the end IIRC. And can he still recruit/relate to players/survive in a very different CFB era than 5 years ago?
And does Woodward want someone who, even if he's successful, has a 10 year or so shelf life?
I don't want Bob Stoops, but I wouldn't be shocked.

I agree with this completely. Like I stated earlier, it is way too early to know anything concrete right now. Anyone saying a deal is getting close with so and so, or he’s decided on X is jumping the gun in a major way. The last serious thing I heard was that SW has sent a couple of ballpark offers out to some agents to gauge interest in 3 guys. Don’t know exact numbers, but have heard it was a “make them say no” situation

Why has Riley not brought in a great defensive coordinator? He would already have 2 or 3 national titles at Okie if he had a big time DC.
How the hell would TBL know this

Then for that matter you could name Peterson. Lot younger. Has not been out of coaching ver long. Great offensive coach. Relates to young playera today.

I bet a lot of people said the same thing when it was rumored that Jimbo was gonna get $10M. This is where big time college football is headed. If you want to pry a big time coach away from their school, you're gonna have to blow them away with the contract.

Petersen is my #2 choice after Riley.
Petersen burnt out coaching in the lowest of low pressure jobs you can get in the P5.
He isn't coming back to coach at LSU.

If there is, Woodward would be a moron not to pursue it. It would secure his legacy (and LSU’s future) on an unprecedented level.
I'm honestly not convinced. I'd let the professionals actually make the decision, but I have major issues imagining Tomlin putting up with recruiting and the college job in general. No doubt he's a great coach, but do you really see Tomlin dealing with someone like Zach Evans in any way besides dropping the recruitment? Do you really?
Obviously Zach Evans was extreme, but diva high school players aren't rare, and a college head coach has to suck up to them. Give me a worse coach that will actually be here two years from now any day.

This post is confusing to me. You have him #2 but list a legit reason why we shouldn’t even consider him.

No he wouldn't deal with it. And that means LSU would end up with a bunch of great players that were not prima donnas and were at LSU to play solid football and get to NFL.
That sound bad?
.. However there is less than 1/million chance Tomlin has thought about this job for a second.

Because I'm not a shrink. If he's refreshed and ready to coach and thinks he can handle the job, he's one of the best coaches out there, employed or otherwise.
I think whether or not he comes back will be a decision he makes after careful consideration and reasoned judgment, and I'll trust his judgment on that until proved otherwise.
