ou think Herman is some terrible coach

Don't know if he is a horrible coach or not, too early to tell after only two years on the job.

I do know that every team he lost to he was favored to win and had more talent. I know that he played and won four games against ranked teams in his first season with the only loss being to UCONN while going 13-1. I also know that he went 9-3 in his second season while only playing two ranked teams and losing to Navy, SMU and Memphis.

At USC or LSU? Did this ineptness happen within the last five years like Herman's?

At Ole Miss, the only program that O ever had top to bottom control of. At LSU and USC he won with coaches hired by someone else and lost against the best teams he played (Alabama, UF, UCLA, and unranked ND).

You refuse to compare apples to Apples. let's compare hermans first year with someone else's players to Os...

Since O doesn't have a second year at osu...we would have to pull his OM days to make that comparison. And I know that will get you all hot and bothered.

And go....

Only four teams make the playoffs. The SEC, Big 10, ACC and Pac-12 winners will get in over the B-12 if the teams records are even close.

So I'm sure you feel the same way about O. Considering he only has 7 games And all. (since anything over 12 months is past the coaching statute of limitations.)

Well email LSU and tell them. This thread is not to support LSU's hire but to support LSU's non-hire of a two year coach who did much worse in his second year.

We're just going to ignore his big wins and past resounding successes as an OC?

"SeekGreatness"

Dick Sabans records as head coach of Michigan State his first 3 years? 6-5-1, 6-6, and 7-5. Shut your Saban Skin flute warmer!

Why don't ---------- you go ------------ and start a thread knocking the CEO hire. I'm just happy LSU didn't hire a one-year-wonder for as much money as Nick Saban makes.

Based on your other 400 threads before the hire was made, we know where you stand. Very inconsistent of you.

I'm sure there have been a bunch of GREAT OC's that were not good head coaches.

He had four big wins and four HUGE losses. They kind of even out.

But based on your criteria, we hired a 7 game 'kinda wonder'.. But you are right we didn't pay him saban type money. Yay for us! Better Christmas presents for everybody!

Whatever you say man. I'm just glad we got a guy with several horrible losses and no big wins that has never so much been a coordinator, let alone had any semblance of success as a head coach.

I don't know if I ever started a thread about Coach O. I may have, but the only thread I remember that included anything that could be assumed, was the hypothetical thread about getting blown out 38-16 while gaining 303 total yards or losing by 10 points to the #1 team in the country and which would be considered worse.

My personal take was that the 38-16 shellacking while gaining 303 yards when considered an offensive "genius" was worse.

You're supporting the non-hire of a coach that had a "worse" record his second year -- a year in which he beat 3 top ten teams --- but are ok with a coach that has never had a winning record as the full time (non-interim) head of a program?

Herman losing to three unranked less talented teams in the last 7 games is not good. He was favored in all three and by more than 22 points against SMU. All within the last two months.

I think some would consider beating #5 Stanford a big win. LSU fans should consider beating Arkansas on the road after losing to Bama a pretty big win since it had not been accomplished for a few years.
